About a year ago I wrote about quantum computers and that they where coming sooner rather than later. Well that time seems to be here as Microsoft releases it's quantum computing chip.
This chip in theory makes every password obsolete to brute force attacks as it would be able to calculate passwords on the fly. This also would in theory threaten bitcoin and any blockchain really.
This could open up other blockchains as being a possible option if they are safe from quantum computers.
It will be interesting to watch what happens next with the Microsoft quantum computer Willow as it continues to scale and become more stable in its calculations.
Another more recent system is also gaining news today as Google unveils a new quantum computer chip. It's clear that most large companies are moving towards these types of massive systems
