Crypto - What Nobody Talks About Behind The Scenes

in crypto •  6 years ago  (edited)

Making the decision of my first crypto purchase November of 2018 with no experience or counseling from financial advisers changed my life forever. As with many entrepreneurs or wantrepreneurs (i still haven't figured myself out) every dollar counts. Currently my credit card is near maxed out as i write this. Credit is a form of slavery many here in the US know. Peers (not all) around my age (late twenties) have steady jobs with a solid, sure income is what sets me apart from them in a way which makes things interesting when hanging out with those whom have such a thing. Consistently people around me talk of awesome music festivals they are going to, have gone too, food they are ordering out or going to restaurants, cars which are not older then 10 (in my case almost 20) years old, alcohol which is high-end quality, traveling, more... all of which i selfishly crave.... Not enough to cave in giving up on my ambitions, one must give up certain things to get other things i believe.

Buying and selling material things to make profits here and there is what i have been doing to fund my goal of being some kind of content creator (everything from vlogs to shooting music video's of both myself and others, editing them, blogging, photography) over the past couple years when starting this quest....truthfully i got off to a slow start, unknowing of where i was heading. i would spend hours listening to Gary Vaynerchuck speaking about how one can make a living being them-self by documenting their story "people will be interested in your truth" Gary would say and went as far to say someone can make a living talking about how much they love something like penutbutter. Gary promoted and still promotes "all one needs to do is consistently post quantity of content on all the major platform (facebook, instagram, youtube, twitter, snapchat, medium, spotify soundloud, the list goes on)" all silicon valleys centralized platforms pretty much.. and i tried which got over 380 page likes on my facebook, a instagram channel which i had made with over 1000 unique posts of blogs, video's with 400 followers and a youtube channel with hundreds of video's, pretty much i took Garys advice, failing to have any real following of quantity or quality people..... until i found blockchain, crypto.

(my background is i worked retail for years, other jobs, got a bachelors degree in marketing spent more time playing ultimate, partying, rock climbing, slack-lining then studying, was try to be musician) as a video maker.) thought i'd mention this by the way.

What nobody talks about behind the scenes to get to the point of this headline is, crypto is more then a currency or as Vatalik (creator of Ethereum) likes to say "Arguing over what is or isn't "money" or "currency" pointless; better treat them as (synonymous) colloquialisms and talk about MoE, UoA, SoV" crypto is a community, has come together to fight for freedom beyond today's middle man system of online transactions (i like to say money is debt, makes me feel better), (crypto is somewhat a pyramid from what i understand) more users means more value...however this is a better pyramid scheme then the one we currently have had to use without other options called fiat. Platforms like this one "Publish0x" popping up giving creators like myself a chance at success unlike the silicon valley platforms Gary consistently promotes... ( i secretly believe Gary knows the future is blockchain and the reason he still promotes silicon valley stuff is he is a paid actor whom has much of his wealth/ time invested into their scheme, which is why he doesn't fight for people's free speech or mention anything about people who are being kicked off the platforms in any of his content... and i am sure he knows this is happening which is the disturbing part of him promoting these platforms to large audiences of older non educated crowds who have no idea there is a war for attention by some bad companies like facebooks family who treats users as products instead of people without their knowledge)

One day naturally stumbling upon a video of tech crunch on youtube or the ai pointed my way, there he was, Vitalik... this skinny white dude, skinnier then my skinny self wearing a tie dyeish shirt with a rainbow, pony, spaceships colorfully printed and designed, he was giving a large crowd of business like people a lecture whom were there to learn about this thing Vitalik had created called Ethereum aka eth, ether. What was this guy talking about? i thought... all of the terms completely unknown he was speaking of, seven months later i can read a blog about crypto and know what nearly every word means, probably know more about how crypto works then many of the people in main stream media who discuess the topic. The community is really what makes crypto crypto, everyone who currently is using crypto many having used the stuff for years all the way back to 2009 when Bitcoin (btc) was created by Satoshi Nakamoto.

where the heck am i going with this blog, ugh, this is the end of my first one... point i wanted to try to talk about in here were going to be

  1. crypto community

  2. ethereum is my favorite

  3. learning about crypto is a fun objective

  4. litecoin, bitcoin are cool too

  5. tokens are cool ( i didnt even talk about some of these things on this list haha)

  6. alt tech > centralized tech (freespeech, interesting topics outside of the norm, free thinkers)
