Crypto has been around long enough now that there are some unique crypto investor profiles. Lets use memes to illustrate the different types of crypto investors
Complete newbies
These are the types of investors who heard about Bitcoin from there hairdresser or on daytime TV and did a little bit of research and decided they didnt want to miss out (FOMO). Late in 2017 there were a lot of these newbie investors as Bitcoins price started to skyrocket and gain more mainstream attention.
Some newbies are skeptical because of the high price of Bitcoin - 'I cant afford that its nearly $10K' is something I have heard before. This highlights how little they know - yet they still want to risk their own money...
The majority of newbie investors have no idea about what the blockchain is or about any of the altcoins. All they really know is that Bitcoin is online money and its anonymous. Some will have heard of the Silk Road saga. Talk of Ethereum or any other Altcoins would go way over their head.
Alot of these newbie investors bought at the worst possible time (when Bitcoin was around its all time high) and then freaked when the price started dropping and then sold calling it a bubble.
Newbies who think they know it all
These investors are easy to spot. They are often middle age males who have been invested in crypto for a few months and think they know all about the market. Key words and terms to look out for are 'to the moon', 'lambo' and 'FUD'. Generally they write things on forums that dont offer a lot of depth or context.
There are people on Youtube who parade around in their flash cars talking about all the money they have made from Crypto - you have to wonder if they even own the cars! A particular channel of debate is JR business which has a young guy who has heaps of flash cars - people often debate if he even owns them or just has rich parents.
These investors have started to learn about the 'altcoin market' and often say things like 'buy xyz coin its going to the moon!'. Generally there is no explanation behind this or it is very vague such as 'oh it such a solid coin' or 'dont buy into the FUD'
Early investors/experts
These are the people who invested in Bitcoin way back in 2013 when it was cheap - alot of these early investors were computer programmers part of the 'cypherpunk' movement. Alot of these early investors truly understand the ins and outs of crypto and alot of them who are still involved today will be very rich!

There is a lot of talk about HODL (Hold on for dear life!) when the market goes through corrections but the early investors have the best understanding of how to HODL as they have seen the market lose 90% of its value on multiple occasions.
These experts are a bit harder to find these days because the crypto market has been flooded by allsorts of people - lots of which dont have the credentials to offer advice.
What type of investor are you? This is just a satire article and is not meant to be offered as financial advice!
omg! hahaha @conradt some of the gifs/meme are so true!
