In this tutorial I will be showing you how to purchase an alt-coin (in this case XRP/RIPPLE) by using coinbase, binance, and your credit card.

Getting Started

Requirements

• Create A Coinbase Account
• Create A Binance Account
• A Credit Card
• OR
• ETH on Coinbase

Process

Buy ETH on Coinbase

1. Log into Coinbase

2. You may connect your bank account, credit card or debit card. You'll need to complete some verification steps before you can use the account. NOTE: Credit Card results in instant purchases

3. Click Buy/Sell

4. Enter the amount you would like to purchase and click Buy Ethereum

Get Your Ethereum Deposit Address From Binance

1. Log onto Binance and click Funds > Deposits & Withdrawals

2. Then search for ETH in the search bar

3. Click the Deposit button

4. Click the Copy Address button

Send Coinbase ETH to Binance ETH address

Within Coinbase:

1. Click Accounts

2. Scroll down to ETH Wallet

3. Click Send

4. Paste the address from Get Your Ethereum Deposit Address From Binance (WARNING: Don't paste my address otherwise it gets sent to my wallet and I will consider it a donation.)

5. Click Continue

6. Input you 2 Factor code (Optional)

NOTE: This process can take a couple of minutes (mine took 20 minutes) as it goes through confirmations.

Buy XRP with ETH

Within Binance you should now see your ETH updated balance

1. Click Exchange > Basic

2. On the right hand side click ETH (this gives you access to the ETH markets)

3. Within the Search bar type XRP click XRP/ETH

4. Scroll to the bottom and look for the buy section

5. Type the amount you want to buy and click Buy XRP

All done, now you are a proud owner of XRP!

Fees

Fees are calculated dynamically on Coinbase. Please review their support page at https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2109597-coinbase-pricing-fees-disclosures?b_id=13521

If you want to avoid coinbase fees you should use gdax which is automatically created for you after creating a Coinbase account.
