So Electronero (ETNx) hard forked from Electroneum (ETN) today, and the mainnet is going live as I type this. Electronero has received a lot of flak from people claiming they are a scam because of unknown developers, and the die-hard nature of Electroneum holders.
There is no real evidence that this fork is a scam. The developers have made it clear they are interested in the privacy portion of the Electroneum coin, and that they feel the developers of Electroneum have dropped the ball as of late when looking at pretty much every aspect.
They refuse to communicate with their community,
They continuously claim the community is what has hurt ETN,
They do not seem to have a dedicated dev team/the dev team is not competent,
They are removing privacy features from the coin,
They have failed pretty much every promise or deadline they have made while claiming the contrary.
Electronero aims to correct these oversights. I am not sure what to expect. I do hold Electroneum, so I do hold Electronero now. I am hoping both programs do great as an investor. But I will wait to pass judgment. I currently have my miners pointed at Electronero to see how their blockchain works when Mainnet is released.
I will post some more as I get more information.

ETN has always been about the idea of mass adoption and the marketing team behind it. I have already pulled a ton of profit out of it so everything else is just gravy at this point.
Unfortunately the ETN team accuses community contributors for their shortcomings, and didn't pay all the ethical hackers through hackerone. They do however have a cult like following, which makes it difficult to reason, but keeps the chain alive as well. The devs scream fud at any criticism and the cult picks it up. This is a problem.
They do have a mobile app on android which is just a fancy faucet or airdrop. It is bringing in new people daily. Some who were never into crypto before ETN.
ETNx is litterally brand new and not much is known about the team other than their whitepaper. They forked from etn and made more coins to dilute the ETN devs holding in the new blockchain. They are more security focuse, enabling the harshest degree of monero's security options in the new blockchain. So that is a definate plus.
If ETNx succesfully launches they do plan on attacking the mobile miner and mass adoption. So i believe if they can get people on board it will be the better chain. We need devs working on these projects.
I am going to hold both and see what happens.

Its a scam. Etn updates constantly. These scammers probably are related to the guy that was fired from etn. Imo.

Etn took an extra 2 months to add asic resistance and still hasn't hit reliable exchanges. 6 months is an eternity for crypto.
