What were some of the biggest "ah ha" moments you had when learning about crypto currency or mining?

I am pretty new to the crypto scene. I missed the whole wave when some of my best friends were telling me what bitcoin was back in like 2011 because I didn't want to read up on it, but took the time in 2017 to educated myself a bit. Even after making my first purchase on coinbase (tells you how late to it I was), I didn't understand much. I began mining some crap coins and setting up things and that was probably when I learned the most because of how many websites I had to look up, code I had to figure out what it meant, or forum links I finally followed.

What were some of your biggest ah ha moments when buy/selling, mining, or trading crypto? What do you like to do currently?
