Ok. Having figured out how to transfer money to Cryptopay last week I was relieved to get an email from them saying that the money had arrived in my account. Yaaay. I didn’t do anything for a day or two then ventured onto the site to figure out how to turn euros into bitcoin. It looked a bit scarey at first. I clicked on deposit in the bitcoin account and the numbers and scan thingy popped up. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do with them, but in the end it was easy-I didn’t need that bit at all.

Easy when you know how

You just have to click on transfers at the top. Then transfer from Euro account to Bitcoin amount, fill in the amount and click transfer. Done! If only everything in cryptoland was so easy!!! That was enough excitement for me for a few days(!) so I didn’t do any more until this evening.

Next step.

Then I ventured on to Poloniex, the currency exchange. A friend of mine had recommended this one. It looks complicated! So far it is complicated! I clicked around a bit, then clicked on balances, and then deposits and withdrawals, because that seemed logical. Not that the logical is always the way! Then I clicked on bitcoin and got a scarey chart. I have no idea what any of that stuff means! At the right of the bitcoin line, however, there is a link ‘Deposit’. I clicked that and it opened something that said it was my bitcoin address. Progress! I copied the numbers it gave and went back to Cryptopay. I clicked on send. There was a box for bitcoin address so I pasted the numbers in there. Just in case I just sent around €30 worth. Better safe than sorry!

Fingers crossed

So, here’s hoping! Nothing in Poloniex yet, but I’ve heard it’s taking ages for Bitcoin to transfer these days so I won’t panic yet. I guess for some people what I’ve just written is stupid easy stuff, but for those of us that have never done this kind of stuff before this is a scarey universe! Writing what I did step by step might be useful for others but it will also help me next time I’m doing it.

Almost done...

It's my first time using the editor button here and it doesn't show me what my post is going to look like. I prefer the other way. Oh dear, it appears I don't have a picture despite my best efforts to add the link here. Ah, the joy of learning curves.

Onwards into a brave new world…

Looks like we will all stick to the markdown editor after all, LOL

Hey, we can/will cover all this Poloniex stuff in the CCC. This is exactly what it's for - to hold your hand during the first steps. Poloniex is super easy when you know how :)

I will also show you how to read the graphs.

Danke danke :)
