The Cuban Council of Ministers met on Tuesday as part of economic measures that could be taken to combat US sanctions against the country. Cuban Economy Minister Alejandro Gil Fernandez said US crypto currencies are being evaluated to create a sustainable economic model that is less affected by US President Trump's sanctions.
Speaking at a roundtable with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, Gil commented: "We are conducting research on the application of crypto currencies in national and international commercial transactions. . "
Gil noted that the economic measures are also being evaluated for increasing and diversifying exports, while underlining the importance of strengthening state-owned companies through investments in the science and food union.
