The Sky is Falling! Muh Cryptos Are Dying.

A quick look at the price charts this morning put me in a bad mood at first. They're all on the downward path, following Bitcoin as it plunges in value. Panic selling usually follows these trends, but even as a crypto noob, I see opportunity. Hodl - I believe the term is. Hold onto what you have. Don't panic. They will all rise again like a shiny little digital phoenix. Take this opportunity to buy, if you are in a position to do so. You will make a profit.

Yes, I'm gutted my saved SBD has halved in value as I had plans to upgrade my PC. But it can wait. Just in case SBD drops down to it's pegged $1, I exchanged it for Steem yesterday. My other holdings are staying in my wallet. I suggest you do the same and not panic.

We can weather this crypto storm. Keep right on Steeming and stack your SBDs and Steem. Power up and increase your voting power and wallet value. Earnings may go down but think of them as investments: they WILL rise again.

We will survive!

I'm not worried dude, they'll come back with avengence.
It is an epic buying opportunity for those who thought they'd missed out and for us old hats.
Buy, HODL, sell & retire!
Yeah baby 👊😎

I'm glad they're coming down. The amount they were going up by was unsustainable. at least now it can go back up at a steady pace, which would likely give the industry more credibility.

welp, so much for my lambo...

XD

Wow. I cashed out of everything three days ago so I had the money to write full time for the next three months.
Looks like my timing was perfect for once.

Holy crap that was a lot, glad you were able to park it.

You're so smart, @johnkingwriter!

I just fluked it.

So psyched for you, choosing to write full time. I’m in your cheering section!

I am upvoting your post both because, like a scared little kid I took comfort in your message, and because the adult part of my mind agrees you are right. Steem on! (And thanks for the comfort. I needed that.)

I may have laughed a little too mych at your comment haha

Yes , these are black days in crypto .... I lost more than 20% from my value .... I hope it will be back ...

Amen to that 😘☝

Buy if you have the means. If you don't at least do not panic sell. HODL is always a good solution.

I wish i had some spare money to buy steem right now. but how knows. It has been falling steadily for over a month now, so it might go even lower.

I checked kpop news earlier and there was a news of a college student committing suicide because he lost a lot of money to crypto with the downtrend :/ .. Thanks for this post. It's reassuring especially to those not used to the dips yet.

yeah heartwarming to hear @gmuxx. if we wind back the clock, the tremendous rises since... the start of December have been cancelled out. That's about all. I remember when crypto passed $100bn not that long ago. This is the beginning. Although I suspect the recent spotlight and wider discussion around crypto has revealed bitcoin's deep flaws. Graphene is the future and steemit brought it out as the best example of what can be achieved on the chain. graphene is currently inspiring the next gen chain based systems, where 6 figureTPS is crucial. Even Neo's nifty 10k TPS blocks are going to look limited in the not too distant future. My advice when buying into altcoins is look at the platforms. they have a future and not even all of them have a long one. We'll be fine. I think if you just HODL'd for the next five years, you'd wake up in 2023 with rather a nice nest egg (from the surviving currencies)

They really started pumping tethers after they got the subpoena, but tether has been pumping for a lot longer than that. An article I read attributed the bulk of 2017's total gains to their tether creation/exchange trading technique to pump volume and price action higher. It is not looking good. Bitcoin is pretty much a dead coin at this point.

yeah I've read some bad sh*t lately. I feel like there's some very highly organised FUD circulating and a lot of money has been pulled out of crypto. Of course there's always some bad pennies but fear not. the internet bubble of 2000 was about 20trillion. crypto is still small potatoes, it's also alive and just getting going. bitcoin may fall further and perhaps into obscurity. it may also end up as a store of value. failure to institute segwit2 might have inadvertently killed it due to miner's greed for quicker block production. it's obvious that the ico craziness cannot continue at the same pace for much longer. there'll be a thinning, a pruning in the markets. I'm feeling positive about the blockchain revolution.

I powered up everything yesterday as I watched the crypto market heading steadily lower. Today looks like much of the same, but who can say for sure, these markets can really turn on a dime (or should I say a satoshi)!

I heard that prices will up grade in the first week of March

There's a rainbow after a storm. So just hold tight and relax. We will receive what is due to us :)

This sounds like my bad days of trading in binary. ugh...

This puts a temporary end on my plans to devote 100% of my time on Steemit.

You'll get there. Keep the faith! :-)

Yeah at this point if you haven't already gotten out of trades that you have made you might as well wait until the the bear market is over and everything quits going down.

Well, kudos to you for having big balls, the one good thing about crypto prices falling is that finally pc components will start to normalize in price back to levels of sane consumer demand from people who don't use it to mine.

This post shows we all feel the same way. .let's stand together and we will survive this bad times..cryptos will rise again

There seems to be great speculation when it comes to Steem value ling term. I have read some that say it will correct and be $1, others say by the end of 2018 it will be $100. It is hard ti believe one or the other though. I am not a major crypto guy, but the only way I could see the value going down is if people left. I don't know though.

LOL I have been so busy last week that I have not been on here much beyond the minute here and there but I am here for the long term (5 year or so plan) so I will just ride it out... Thank You @gmuxx for sharing your thoughts on this.

When so many move in exact lock step, you know it's just an across the board FUD with no discernment. Just means hopefully STEEM will be back in the top 20 soon.
