Launched three months ago, the flagship high-end model of Samsung, the S10, integrates a digital wallet based on the Ethereum network. Currently, the Korean giant seeks to decline this feature on other models more affordable to users, to accelerate the democratization of the Blockchain.

Other end users in Samsung's sights

Launched three months ago, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a crypto feature translated by a Blockchain application that allows ERC-20 token users to store their assets.

However, this wallet signed Samsung has been limited to models for the South Korean market, American and Canadian.

Recently, Samsung executives decided to extend the accessibility of Samsung wallet to other users by focusing on other less expensive products.

Chae Won-Cheol, general manager of Samsung Electronics' product strategy, said:

"We are going to reduce the obstacles to new experiments by gradually increasing the number of Galaxy models in charge of Blockchain functions" , before adding :

"We will also expand our services to countries other than South Korea, the United States and Canada."

Promote the Blockchain from Smartphones

In addition to its interest in soliciting Blockchain technology, Samsung also plans to promote cryptocurrency from its highly acclaimed products.

This emerging technology is sorely lacking in support from the authorities, which is why Samsung has been looking for a direct incorporation of the digital portfolio into its state-of-the-art product.

In addition, the Korean firm is excited to explore the potential of Blockchain that would allow "every user to store and process data in a decentralized ecosystem" including "confirmation of secure distribution information, verification insurance and contracts, copyright management, content distribution ".
