I love this meme because I bought my first Bitcoins in the early part of 2013. It was in a big box franchise coffee shop from a guy who mined them in his home, on a GPU mining rig. This was before Bitcoin ATMs. I found him on LocalBitcoins.com.
I also began mining BTC before ASIC miners existed. Once the difficulty, hardware changes and profitability forced me to rethink, I moved to just buying. Think long term people. Have patience, these swings have happened before. On the whole, crypto adoption is still low overall. There is still an immense amount of growth to come.
Hodl Steemians. Hopefully you sold high and can buy up the cheaper Steem we currently have, and potentially have to come. It’s a gift in the long term. DTube is exploding and many more Steem based networks are coming.

thats great and really good to hear that you bought btc in 2013 and hope you got much profit to buy in cheap but i missed that chance because i really didnot know about btc or any crypto in 2013 14 15 and 16 and i knew about it in 2017 when my friend introduced me about crypto world

I have been in crypto from past 8 months. It wasn't until that time our government ban cryptocurrencies in Nepal putting 7 persons in jail. Then a friend of mine who was in cryptomarket over a year introduced me about cryptocurrencies, its potential and I was greatly fascinated by its advantages. Its a shame for our government banning cryptos. After slowly learning about cryptos, I stumbled upon steemit🙂

This really is me. I mined a lot of btc in 2011 when you could mine on graphics cards. I was mining over 0.5 btc per day but only just making a profit as they were only worth a few dollars. I then sold off gradually over the years but still hold some.
In 2014 I tried to get a friend interested but it was all too much for him! He then suddenly became interested just before Xmas due to price increases and all the publicity etc. I tried to warn him not to buy in at that time and that he would prob benefit from waiting but he wouldn’t listen! He is now 50% or so down and very disillusioned! Till then next bull run.....

I've been active in the space since the summer of 2014. So not as long as you, but long enough to experience crashes, dumps, hacks etc :-P
A colleague of mine told me about it and was the first person to be able to really explain to me what Bitcoin was and what it was about. In 2012 I did some digging as well, but since there were not that many resources for info like today and I didn't understand it enough, I didn't get in...
But hey, I'm here now!

Before the word was invented, I did HODL Bitcoins.
I bought 200 at US$7 each in May 2011.
I sold 50 of them in June 2011 at US$30, to get my money back.
I HODLed the 150 BTCs.
In October 2011, the prices of 1 BTC was below US$3.
When the prices skyrocketed in November 2013, I sold 10 BTCs for CAD$10,000.
So far so good.
But then I continued to HODL most of my BTCs on MtGox: big mistake!

I think I didn't hear about Bitcoin until sometime in 2016. I didn't even know what it was, so I missed out there. I found Steemit while I was doing other cryptocurrency research. I've been involved since December 2017, and it's been fun. I'd love to get more Steem on the cheap, but I'm already HODLing on other things and still have to eat, so still sitting this one out. I used to shop with Bitcoin since 2012/2013.
Some of my coins where stuck for years. Bit i recently got them out. I made good money. I also bought more two weeks ago and still do during this drop. I believe they are very cheap right now. The drop might be bigger and last a while. But that dosent matter for me. Om 5-10 years i think i am a millionaire.
