It is truly amazing that most of the challenges that incessantly pesters the health sector today are in general, the same ones that deprived us all of sound health many years ago.
It is indeed appalling that in this 21st century, the method adopted for documentation of patients' medical data in many organizations is yet traditional i.e manually storing of files and records and stacking them up in a storage room deep inside the organization. Some even go an extra mile of backing up these files to the organisations mainframe. Honestly, these acts nowadays are somewhat astonishing. I mean, you would agree with me that with such centralized data bank, if there isn't an absolute disaster recovery plan, which is still most likely to fail anyways, significant amount of medical records, if not all, would be lost, in the course of an unexpected natural, or man-made catastrophe.
Aside this, the problem of lack of interoperability of patients' medical records which undoubtedly would result in slow and inefficient use of medical data, seems to stand mountainous.
As an illustration, a patient periodically runs a test in a Clinic A, and then one day, the Clinic A laboratory attendants enunciates the troubling fact that one of the reagent for test is exhausted. The only option left is to hurriedly opt in for another test in another Clinic, Clinic B. In the course of consultation with Clinic B's doctor, this patient who's obviously trying not to lose his patience is told he has to re-run all the tests he's done in the previous Clinic A! Imagine the frustration!
This is where MediBloc comes in.
