Tried to buy some MINT on EtherDelta but just ended up losing half my stake

in crypto •  7 years ago

Yesterday I tried to buy some MINT tokens on EtherDelta but idiotically just ended up throwing away $150 somehow.

I had watched a few videos to see how the system worked but being a novice I just didn't realise how long it would take for the contracts to confirm through the blockchain. When I checked again this morning it seemed that all the contracts had happened but my funds had been used up in gas payments. No MINT in my account even though the contracts had been successful.

All part of the learning curve I guess but someone getting rich on the back of naive eejits like myself just trying out cryptos for the first time.

Fortunately my small STEEM investment has been doing well so on balance life can go on as before. Just incredibly annoying that the contracts were successfully completed and the gas charge taken but no coins in return. GRRRRR!!
