With the rise of a multitude of digital currencies and blockchain units, a standard system of reference for the units must be established. The best way to do this is to use International System of Units (SI) terminology. This is how it would be applied to Bitcoin: A single bitcoin is made up of 100,000,000 satoshis, the smallest unit. If we use a ‘bit’ as the smallest unit, then one Bitcoin would be equal to 100,000,000 bit, or 100 megabit, or 100Mb.
