I built my first mining rig recently. I found that decent frames for 6+ GPU's were almost $200, and I decided to fuck that noise, because that's silly. So, I went to Lowes, and spent $10 and did it myself. I found a $6 milk crate with just enough space to fit all 6 of my GTX 1070's. Then I found a 1/4" square wooden dowel for a couple dollars that I cut into 2 pieces and used to support the cards. To put it all together, I used zip ties, because they were cheap, and seemed easy.![IMG_20171223_190104802.jpg]

The PSU is zip tied to the side, so that the entire unit can be picked up and moved easily. At this point it was nice, and it worked well, but I was concerned about it being open air. I have cats, and I don't sweep as often as I should, so dust will get all up in it, and I don't want to have to clean it, like, ever. So I got back to work. I took a big ass amazon box, and cut some 16x16 holes in the sides and covered it with cheapo air filters. Then I cut 2 round holes in the top and placed a pair of 240mm fans to exhaust the hot air out of the box, creating negative air pressure inside and drawing fresh air in through the filters to cool the cards.
Then I took some packaging tape left over from Christmas and taped around the filters to seal it up and prevent air from entering without passing through the filters, sliced a big X in the back to get cables inside, and put the rig in the box. The fans draw enough air that the GPU temps are cooler than they were when it was open air, and no dust or cat hair gets in, and my nieces and nephews can't put their grubby little hands in it. And it cost less than lunch at Chipotle, so I'm racking this up as a win.
Haha nice! Make sure you keep a smoke detector on around it in case the risers or connectors short out. Otherwise, very frugal built! What are you mining with it and what pool you recommend?

Mining ZCL until the fork, at miningpoolhub. My results there have been the closest to whattoomine projections, and they'll email me if my rig goes offline for some reason.
