Why We Do What We Do

I watched a great Ted Talk the other day by Simon Sinek. It is titled How Great Leaders Inspire Action. Simon's main message is that those who inspire others are able to do that because they are motivated by the right reasons. They have asked the WHY question of themselves, and the why is what motivates them. They are not doing things because of WHAT and HOW.

So what does this have to do with cryptocurrency and blockchain?

I think this applies to everything we do. If we work from the why instead of from the what and the how, we inspire more people. Blockchain has fantastic answers to the why question.

My involvement in this space is mainly as an investor and miner. I have not done much programming work or worked for one of the many startups. But why am I involved?

Really, I could invest in a lot of other things. I don't need to invest in blockchain. But I believe blockchain tech can change the world we live in. It has the ability to democratize so many things. Everything from access to capital and ownership to voting. That is why I am involved!
