A CRYPTO VIEWPOINT - BTC vs BCH - THE BATTLE OF HASHRATESsteemCreated with Sketch.

in crypto •  6 years ago

As many of you know, on 1 August 2017 a hard fork took effect on the Bitcoin blockchain and, as a result, Bitcoin Cash (also called Bcash) was created. A lot of debate marked the following weeks and months.
This post tries to clarify just one aspect of the debate.
There is a lot of controversial information about the miners' support for BTC and BCH. BCH fans (yes, Roger and Jihan above all) tend to stress that miners support their coin more and more than BTC.

Let's verify together if this is the case:
we will do it looking at a particular graph that you can find on: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-btc-bch.html

BTC hashrate vs BCH hashrate on a 1 year timeframe

This graph is on a 1 year timeframe.
It is easy to notice that the BCH hashrate has not changed much, staying mostly under the 5 EHash/s, while the BTC hashrate raised from 5 EHash/s to approximately 55 EHash/s.
I believe this clearly demonstrates a bigger and growing BTC support from miners
