The Crash To Come - I'm reaching out to you

in crypto •  7 years ago

Hi,
The purpose of this post is pretty simple, I am looking for advice regarding a sensitive situation I find myself in.
I am , sorry, we are about to come into some money from the sale of an asset, however I am in the middle of divorce proceedings with the Lady Fühhrer who is fiscally conservative, myriad of reasons for this, lack of trust between us, fear of poverty, came from a family that had the rug pulled out from under them when she was a teenager, etc etc, not her fault, just background. Anyway, thing is, the money is in joint accounts, not problem there, but I would like to try to convince her to move it into something more defensive than cash sitting in the bank. I think this is precarious as cash in the bank, come the crash might remain cash in the bank, with no access to it, Greece, Cyprus, et al.
We are looking at $360,000.00 US here.
Bearing in mind that it is costing money to keep it in the bank at the moment, and that recently Mario Draghi intimated that the deposit insurance scheme will come to an end, and that in the event of a credit crisis the ECB would allow certain institutions to 'manage' the deposits of their customers, ie, drip feed you the bare minimum to survive I am looking to present to her a mixed defensive portfolio of potential investments, necessarily conservative.
Personally I am less risk averse. With the money locked away I have survived this year by cashing in a bond I held and investing it in some cryptos, Bitcoin, bitcoin cash, eth, monero, and a few ICO start ups. It wasn't a lot of money and I have survived this year, nearly run dry but did ok.
So I am thinking the following, please remember, she is risk averse.
$100k Gold/Silver
$100k Short term treasury/European bonds
$100k Cryptos, mix of top 15
$20k ICO's (Value Driven Small 2 to 10 million in value startup value)
$40K Cash

I have told her the Metals and cash can be deposited in a joint vault, neither one of us with sole access.
The treasury bonds bought in joint names through a broker.

As for the cryptos, I haven't figured out a way to make her feel secure about buying them, in two ways,
Obviously it can be quite a rollercoaster in terms of the swings but I would consider my position on these as long also buying them, this is an issue. I have yet to come across an exchange that facilitates joint accounts. I know that if there were some sort of joint account out there that allowed two people to operate it symbiotically, with two access codes or keys or something, I am sure this would make here feel better about the risk.

Like I said in the header, I'm reaching out to you.
Any sound advice would be massively appreciated.
