New Report Shows Why It's Good To Be In Crypto Right Now
Whatever's happening in China and whatever policymakers in Russia think about cryptocurrency, one thing's for sure – that the industry is not only booming, it's here to stay. You can support a multi billion-dollar industry without an infrastructural framework and – in line with this statement – you can't support the infrastructural framework for a billion-dollar industry without a plethora of individuals who know what they are doing.
Add in the fact that crypto and blockchain type jobs are highly technical (and, in turn, very skilled labor) and then combine this fact with the rapid speed with which the industry is growing and what do you get?
Big demand, short supply – talent crunch!
This has just been confirmed by AngelList in a report available here.
According to the report, the number of job listings on AngelList that require individuals versed in the cryptocurrency space has doubled in the last six months. The vast majority of these listings are rooted in two things – blockchain development and initial coin offerings. Consider the fact that ICOs have exploded onto the scene this summer (tech startups raised more than $1.3 billion from ICOs during the first half of this year, far surpassing the amount raised through traditional angel investing) and that there's a surge in demand for both the technological and marketing talent to support this explosion isn’t surprising.
What all this means, of course, is that bitcoin and crypto jobs are some of the most highly paid out there right now.
The median technical salary listed on Angel is $122,000 for a blockchain related technical job, versus $108,000 for a non-blockchain technical role.
Similarly, the median non-technical salary listed on Angel is $89,000 for a blockchain related technical job, versus $79,000 for a non-blockchain technical role.
The same trend is true for remote friendly jobs, with nearly three times as many jobs in blockchain tagged as remote friendly than those tagged as the same for non-blockchain.
It looks as though it's a great time to get into crypto.
