Ether sold, now what NXT

in crypto •  8 years ago  (edited)

It seems like there is no end to the downfall of Ether. Decided when it would get to close to 11 dollar then I would sell for BitCoin. Not only that, moving my assets from Bleutrade to Cryptopia in the process. After this, Ethereum probably will go to new records in height. But that's ok I'm bad at speculation, so when I sell, time for you to buy. And I never put in more than I was willing to lose anyway. Just some small tokens made with mining and coins that nobody wants.

That's what gives them their charm. Still looking for those little engines that could. One of those is Slothcoin, the community driven soft fork, version 1.3.1.3, still going sloth all the way to Proxima Centauri. Why go for the moon when you can reach for the stars, right? TORUM is one I released on the NXT chain, in the Monetary System, with an incredible amount to be released of 15 trillion. With Ardor, NXT2.0, getting closer, this one will go on a seperate chain, to my surprise. Still it will fill blocks, and they will fill the chain. Making it harder for simple 'peers' to join in. Centralisation will continue, big players in controle. Is there no other way of doing things in the realm of the Crypto Fiat valuta?

Cryptonite

Now, how could I forget about that one? No, not the CryptoNote chain, Cryptonite, the one with the mini-blockchain. Real innovation, no more madness of supposed endless growth, but a sustainable mini-blockchain. It has got many cool features. Completely 64 bit minded, ready for the crypto future. No more bloated blockchain! Yes! Celebrations all around. People dancing in the streets, we finally are liberated from the banking system where money devaluates and comes in debt. No more debt slavery chaines for humanity... Pitty, the original developer went on to other things. Fortunately Cryptonite it is Open Source, allready had a go at it, but as I stated before I do not 'C' that well. Also used to the luxury of QT Creator and it's project file system, I'm not comfortable around that md4 and autogen stuff.

Had a go at it, a few times, but I got stuck using the Windows 64 bit version running in WINE on Ubuntu GNU Linux. (Yes, there is a version for Ubuntu 14.04, but it doesn't work.) And Cryptonite seems stuck because there are no peers to add, leaving it behind for the voltures. That would be a real pitty. Because the technology behind this Crypto Fiat valuta is very promising. And there was really a lot of work put into this whole project, just look at the Wiki and you'll understand that this one is really the next thing... Is there a way to safe this brilliant innovation for the future?

Connecting to the Cryptohive

Resistance is futile, well you have to be into Star Trek to get that one. But joking aside, I'm trying to connect to the Cryptonite network, but so far no connections found. Still trying, so far no result. So, back to the drawingboard, maybe this could become a community project, it would be a real waste if it disappears into oblivion. Everywhere blockchains are getting more bloated, filled with complex Turing complete programmes, that fail on the first big thing. More and more complex, like some processor developements. Then one day ARM stepped in and made things simple, fast and energy-efficient. Now that is the kind of innovation that I would support in a blockchain Crypto Fiat valuta. And the only one so far that has given a sign of promise in that direction is Cryptonite...

In the near future I will have another go at the Cryptonite sourcode. But this could take until autumn overhere in Netherland. At least get a working compile in 64bit GNU Linux. Maybe try CryproniteD first and then move on to the next level. And the only thing that matters is that it will function as an exchange system. Send a message with the transaction, ok, but no more of that Scripting madness. It should be as simple as paying with Cash, no more, no less. And Grumpy the cat will become the mascotte of the project to be. Not claiming I will fix it, nor that I will be a developer for this project, but I'll support it within my possibilities.

Now, be gone all you 'fintechies' claiming that blockchain growth can go on for ever, seems you have been in Ether for far too long! The future is in the slim blockchain. Now let's do this!

[EDIT] Got connected to the Cryptonite Network, only 14 weeks behind...

Whoa! you got me scared now. I too hold some ethers and have been wondering what to do while I stare at a gloome graph heading down.

Sorry to have scared you Norbu. For me there was a threshhold, about 11 Dollar. If it would get to close to that again, I would sell. So I did, still on the plus side of the speculation.

I hold ETHs and yes at the moment its seems the best option to cut your losses. But there is other factors involved, BTC halving, DAO fiasco. I'm going to wait till end of august if it does't go up by then i will sell. Such a short space in time to really see where is ETH going next. In the meantime enjoy volatility.

It is unpredictable indeed. Speculation is a gambling game, I guess.

better than gambling, i been there... In gamling you either win or lose all. investing you still get to keep peanuts if it goes sour.
