Here's another delightful cognitive bias we have as humans:![m.jpg]
)
Oh yeah, this works wonders to indoctrinate anyone given enough time and the right conditions. The more you hear about something the better it sounds and you just...accept it as good?
Got me thinking about crypto and how we are all talking about how big all this is gonna be. Funny, people outside of crypto never talk about crypto and when I do try to they shy away and have a hard time to wrap their head around all this. As you can see, cognitive ease works both ways. New things are hard to deal with and we'd rather not. Unless we have a good reason, like this is the next big thing!
However, this is also worriesome because we created a cultured around HODL and we belive that HODLing and crypto are the best way to go forward and I think we kind of believe it because we hear it all the time..in our bubble. I mean there is not proven case for HODLing besides the fact that it's considered the safest thing for new people. But if I told you to "hodl" a stock or house or anything else really you'd think I'm crazy.
But wait! Crypto is just gonna be worth more! Your care is a bad assett that is eating up[ your money not making you any more. Well, sort of?
This is again an example of repetition that creates a certitude that might not be warranted. After all, who says that crypto must go up?
But wherever I read about crypto in the forums people are SO SURE that we've just started and Bitcoin will be 1mil$ and other crazy things like that. I have nothing against crazy big ideas and dream but the certitude behind them scares me because I think is borderline on delusional.
Not anymore! Is actually just a cognitive bias.
PHEW , right?!
Anyway, be careful what you believe and always try to stay skeptical cause it's so easy to be tricked.
PS: this is the video that made me think about all this, highly recommended!

Great quote; it shows why billions of people were dumb enough to believe we live on a spinning space rock with magic space ships and houses floating around above us. It's amazing how a science fiction fairy tale can be believed by anyone, but you're right, that's what happens when you're told so over and over again.

Nope, I would tell you that you were exactly right, that's where the idea of HODL comes from. Warren Buffet advises you to buy a stock and keep it forever when possible. They are not really making more real estate. The only reason to sell a good investment property would be if you are retiring or something and ready to cash out or to buy another property.
