Blockchain vs. Hashgraph.
I'm not a techie, nor do I resemble anything close. I blog - Mostly about things I am familiar with. I do know what blockchain technology is though and I do understand the basics about cryptocurrencies, but I have never heard of Hashgraph... until today. I read this article written by Justin Danneman (Squawker.org) where he explains 'Swirlds' ... a software platform that has developed the 'Hashgraph' consensus algorithm: a new distributed ledger technology that is much more cost-effective (no proof-of-work), 50,000 times the speed, safer (Byzantine), more efficient (no stale blocks) and mathematically fairer than the blockchain. He goes on to say that "This is the future of the internet and decentralized technology." Again, I understand just enough to drive my gut instinct and my gut says, "here we go again!"
All this new stuff makes me dizzy and wonder. If Blockchain technology is the greatest technological innovation since the internet, then where does this Hashgraph fit in? Will it supplant the Blockchain? If so, when? And if that happens, will Bitcoin die? Sometimes I think things are just moving a little too fast. I mean, once you begin to learn about something new, something else replaces it before you can adapt. Take the iPhoneX for example. I know people that havn't mastered their iPhone4 yet!
Anyway, I found some other articles about Hashgraph that might help to understand where we all might be headed, faster than your spinning head can imagine. Crypto-enthusiasts take your starting positions, the race is on... here comes even more FOMO!
Can someone compare it against the EOS blockchain

I believe it to be a totally different level of tech.

Tech stack i agree, performance and security differences, not so sure, consensus models are both vote based, hashgraph does it virtually and includes all nodes whereas EOS is delegated to top 21 witnesses

Just watched Mike Maloney's hidden secrets of money and wow. Boom 🤯
All of these mining entities raising over $100 million to build new mining facilities to mine cryptocurrency now just seems silly.
