Yes. I buy and sell things with crypto all the time.
In 2015 I used to buy food deliveries with Bitcoin using Marvin.ie. I also frequently bought Steam games, not directly on Steam but via third party services. I also tipped camgirls with Bitcoin on Xotika.tv.
Today it is no longer feasible to do that with Bitcoin. However I have regularly split bills such as meals and Uber fares using Steem. I also bought my SteemFest 1 and 2 tickets using Steem.
