"But wait... what about Steemit? Bitshares?

Uh, yeah."

Hahah what a bunch of goons. I was literally just reading up on comparative marketing. The kind of stuff where one brand tries to prove they are better by smear campaigning another. It seems like the Don couldn't con you xD

Are they bringing something new to the table? Solving an issue, or providing any kind of innovation? Someone reaching out to strangers to shill their blockchain too—I thought 4chan was bad, but LinkedIn? I'd never suspect that.

Good looking out though, this was an entertaining tale that's going to help everyone be a little more cautious!~

Seems like they were just riding on the “world’s fastest” USP. Which even if they might actually somehow be able to claim that, the day EOS comes out, that entire premise is fucked. Lol.

The fact that their website looks rather amateurish and has NO “team” page... 😂

I learned what a USP is today, ohhh thank you! :D

Even if they were correct, which you already highlighted through their obvious lack of research... EOS main net is only a couple of months away!

But of course, why would we give our money away invest in a project with no prior knowledge of reputable or experienced members? Having a solid team would have made a better USP.

Here We Are Another Two A.M. Game Of Bullshit Only Instead Of Cards We're Using Words And Feelings...

Wow, what a story to tell. bullshit is still bullshit.

Great post
I like your blockchain
Thanks for sharing crypot
I appreciate your cryptocurrency news

I don’t have a blockchain.

And I don’t know wtf “crypot” is or how I could have possibly shared it.

Lol.

Thanks My friends i am happy

Steem, Bitshares, Ripple, and EOS
When i was reading it, i was wondering why steem and the rest wasnt mentioned then i see you drawing our attention to it why it is scam.

Alot of this scammer are all over the world, the truth still stand that all we need is the first principle, # listen to your gut. Never jump into an opportunity quickly, try to be inquisitive, share with others.

@rok-sivante ooops they met the wrong person lol. It will really take alot to get you deceived, not with such cheap lies.

Just rey them to go get a life lol

To crown it all, i love the phone pic you use and also the name (condomn) you called him, am still laughing over here.

thank God you never fall to this evil plan of the enemy.

Now, this actually portrays what exaggeration does to people, instead of making his explanation moderate, he decided to add the fastest just to make his presentation more yummy.

But then, you were only able to get signals
from your suspicious antenna because you are smart, and have attained some certain level of experience in the blockchain.

knowledge is an antidote to pranks and scams.

The name? Condon... 😂
Frankly speaking, am too silly.
My mind went there too, I just had to check the spelling again.

The funny thing is, the naive and unsuspecting public in the blockchain are the victims of scams like this.

We just need to be wary of these illegitimate germination of ICOs, so no one puts his money in a well that has no bottom.

Thanks a lot @rok-sivante for calling our attention to this insidious blockchain cankerworm.

Con - Don... Epic! If it is in fact a fake name I would simply "invest" (read donate) a few cents from the huge laugh he was able to provide.

A balanced and calm advice for entering into this space, especially when under 2% of ICO's last year were profitable... It's truly a shame that every great renaissance has to be paired with such darkness. But, for every yin there's a yang...

Question is how do we leverage the power of the pure profit motive to create a better society? Opposed to fighting them, how do we ally with them?

Just a thought...

Innovate new models...

One of my favourite projects I’ve come across is Earth Dollar...

They’re still building their foundations and not sure how it’ll go, but the concept is fucking brilliant - utilize the Natural Capital Accounting Protocol and back with crypto to essentially incentivize the protection of the environment, monetize different kinds of natural capital and Human Resources, placing value on these factors and rewarding them with an alternative currency.

Check it out - it’s a fine example of how the answer to your questions may play out...

For sure! I have seen the Earth Dollar. I love the idea behind it! I hope it takes off. But, I'm a bit concerned with the utility. (yes the backing mechanism seems sound, I'm super in favor of incentivizing the regeneration of our planet). However, I couldn't understand why people would need, or prefer to use, Earth Dollars opposed to the plethora of other currencies (aside from moral positions).

I love the position, but I'm just not sure it's the way to go.

Unless I'm missing something huge...

But, I'm supporting them none-the-less :)

However, I couldn't understand why people would need, or prefer to use, Earth Dollars opposed to the plethora of other currencies

If you were to receive Earth Dollars as either a basic income or kickback for using technologies that reduced environmental pollution, and could spend it anywhere on a visa/debit card as you do fiat, why not?

Or, from an investment standpoint: Whereas nearly all other tokens’ price may be based on speculation, Earth Dollar’s is more asset-backed - meaning, should the project really take off and the network grown to bring increasing amounts of natural capital into their accounting system, there is very tangible value backing it - and the limits of value increase being only the amount of natural capital value accounted. Should there be some big players or key pieces come into play/place, the upside could be huge... ;-)

Thank you for bringing this up. I went back to their site to check them out again!

I really like the idea.

But, I don't know if "backing" is the correct term here.

(from their site)

"The Natural Capital Assets of the World Heritage Sanctuaries we co-stewarded, have an initial estimated value of €6.91 trillion (Net Present Value). We plan to use less than 50%, €3.22 trillion to back the value of the Earth Dollar/Smart Asset Tokens and to keep the rest in reserve as a buffer or contingency. We are in the process of getting 3rd party verification of the initial valuation."

They are getting valuations on forests that are put into trusts that can never actually be sold.

So, when my dollar was backed by gold. I could get gold. I can't get 1/1000000 of the land if I own equal percentage of earth dollars...

With that said, the people rewarded here are not the currency users but those stewarding lands (which is a beautiful concept). But, why would regular people use this over a currency that would reward them for using it. Or, say give them a bit of the new inflation for being loyal to the platform, etc.

"and could spend it anywhere on a visa/debit card as you do fiat, why not?"

It would be really radical if they secure these partnerships with banks that allow it to be spent so easily. But, then people are just wanting fiat not Earth Dollars.

My main question here. Is in order for a currency to have and maintain relative value the demand and supply for that currency need to be in balance.

My real concern here, is where is the REAL demand for Earth Dollars? There are so many cryptos such as PoS and others on the horizon which will share the inflation with those who hold the currency. So, it would be a much wiser economic decision to have a currency that you are economically rewarded for holding.

I think if they could figure this aspect out. It would be really radical, but just saying the value of the natural capital has increased, though there is actually no way of redeeming this value, is a false notion.

This may be the leverage they need to get banks backing. But, I fear that these lands may end up in the hands of banks, if they don't sort out the demand side of this equation.

What a coincidence! They reached out to my linkedin the other day.
Thanks for the article!

I hit delete...and moved on.

wise move. lol. :-)

Good decision. It's good thinking first before taking a decision that will harm us, good job @rok-sivante

Typical scam.

Than you so much for this.
This scammer are really increasing everyday.....the latest method by some now is to send 0.001sbd accompanied with a request message claiming they are the best bot upvoter and they ask you to send 1 or 0.5sbd to receive 100percent upvote from them.
The funny thing is that If I access their wallet I only end up discovering that my steem power as small as it is is even stronger than theirs.
Let's just hope that with time there will be am effective mechanism through which they will be fished out and sent packing from steemit.
Thanks for your advise it will be really of great immense help.
Been a while @rok-sivante.
It's morning over here, good morning

It's amazing how people like to ignore info on the crypto currency world.

Just today I was reading on the paper that Nobel Prize Winner Nouriel Roubini had written a scientific article again. I went to read that article...

... in that article he goes how blockchain is slow, not usable, not scalable, expensive yadda yadda. He then went on to justify that bitcoin would only allow less than 10 transactions per second... no reference to lightning.... then Ethereum, no reference to the innovations, just the numbers of last year....

Heck... and they publish this shit as legitimate.

p.s. congrats on achieving 2222 followers!

...and 63 Rep! only ... 10 less than you :D

Not bad, considering the difference in length of time we’ve been here!

Thanks! Your votes helped a bunch.

It’s been a pleasure supporting - comments and content like yours stand out and set a great example... 🙏

Trust me rok...
I've been registering Airdrops every now and then, to the extent that I don't even know the ones that are scams.

After all, I've nothing to lose(self assurance). Going true this your update appears like you are advising me directly.

The sudden surge of these Blockchain technology and the continuous emergence of ICOs indiscriminately is becoming unbecoming, the ignorant public could be easily deceived by those of them that are scammers.

(Yes, the first reaction from the juvenille part of my mind referenced "condom." Ha, ha. Immature, I know.)

Lol.😁😁😁😁
This was actually where my head dragged me to at first. I just hope people tread carefully with all these stuffs springing up.

Thanks for the update.

LOL

Here is another one: "con done!"

Hehe. :-)

Scam is every where. That's even how I gave out my ether private keys to a site claiming to be giving ICO. Thanks for this post because the whales on steemit whose post attracts more views have to hammer on this scam of a thing it have really reap us the little fishes in the crypto world.

I think this is a new knowledge for me, you have given a good clarification about choosing the right path. so many scams that have evolved today, and I've felt it 😂, but I am still confused @rok-sivante, is there a right way to distinguish between a scam or not ?.

There are many telltale signs, main being:

  • caliber of team, their track records, and networks they are connected into
  • viability of concept
  • whether they have an actual working prototype with a solid value proposition or are running on hype
