Good job, this is good information for steemian..

no need to ask for permission, you may resteem anything you want anytime...

I wish Facebook didn't lump in bitcoin and other legit crypto companies with the ICO scammers! That's just poor judgement on their part.

It would have also been great if Coinmarketcap banned Bitconnect ads and other scams from advertising on their site, but I guess ad $$$ trumps morals and values.

I'm pretty sure they don't. Zuck's no fool.

the 'scam scenario' might have just been an impetus leading to the decision. though as stated in part one - how many ads have you seen for the QUALITY blockchain projects on Facebook? Probably zero. The good stuff doesn't need marketing channels like Facebook's. Thus, there's no real damage done to the players with integrity - as if they're really strong enough and have the substance, network effects alone will do way beyond what marketing campaigns alone could.

Understand that there is a similarity to a cryptocurrency with Facebook?

What? No, we're discussing the fact that Facebook is banning crypto news, and how that is going to be good for crypto in the long run.

in that they're TECHNOLOGIES that run on the internet?

have to agree with Max here that this point seems rather irrelevant, if you could even call it a point at all.

Now I understand.

There will be more bungholes after me!

lol.

completely irrelevant. except this gets a pass for hilariousness. :-)

What?

Here's some TP @cornholio

The world of cryptocurrency is like a colorful world when a colorblind person who lives in a cave sees colors for the first time. Facebook or other companies are no different to us, we are all amazed, astonished, yet confused or even worse shocked at the same time. Mixed feelings.

The reactions may vary, it depends on every unique perspective from any individual. Majority of us here see this new world as hope to make our life's better in any aspect because it offers us to share values in a whole new level than any conventional systems.
Values may be interpreted as 'money', ethics, or the combination of both.

Facebook is just a profit-oriented company, like many others. It is fair for them to see this world from money-oriented view.

@rok-sivante, this is how I interpret your two articles (part one and two) in addition to other opinions regarding this hot issue in my nutshell perspective.

Providing quality organic information to our audiences on old school platforms like Facebook should be one of the top priorities of most of us on this site. It's not everyones responsibility due to the fact that not everyone has quality info to share. If you fall into this catagory then you should focus on education first then sharing. I did a Facebook live a week and a half ago to promote steemit and share about the steem blockchain. I did get some interested parties to sign up but there is much more work for me to do here. I'm ramping up my educational process over the coming months where I'll be looking to be peaking with my outreach by summer time! Also, I do agree that Facebook banning ICO ads will help our market. These scam ads getting people to lose money on their first investment into the market is terrible for the market as a whole. It's way too dangerous for us having an advertising platform as powerful as Facebook being used to promote crypto scams. Good call Facebook!! Thanks for the post!

At first the news was misinterpreted, and they talked about Facebook going to ban the news related to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies ... but in reality all they want to ban are the false news or fake scam websites that take advantage of people, or at least it is what I understood ...

Every day that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies pass is more present in the rest of social networks, television and media.

We are fortunate to belong to Steemit that great social network that for many is the future and for us it is the present.

Advertising ban. On Facebook Ads.

Well, the good thing is crypto won't have its image stained by vaporware ICOs and scammers trying to pull off Bitconnect clones and high yield investment programs.

On the other hand, who in Facebook decides what is a scam and what is an opportunity.

How much money would you bet that Steem would be considered a scam by Facebook?

Cheers

Thanks for sharing another interesting perspective @rok-sivante. I think the opinion in this post is an interesting point of view, and in many ways I agree.

Being an ICO marketing consultant, when this news dropped, I did panic a little bit for a short time. After taking some time to weigh up the pros and cons of it, I came to a realisation: ICOs generally accept Ethereum, and people who own Ethereum are generally at least slightly involved in this market. Most people involved in this market are easy to reach on other platforms, thus the ban is not a huge problem for the work that I do.

That being said, of course Facebook ads generate sales. But to build on your point, it does provide with the opportunity to improve the quality of marketing we do, to explore different methods of showcasing different cryptocurrencies and even create new methods of marketing in this space.

I'm personally excited to see what innovation this drives, and I know that the feeling is mutal amongst a few people I know in similar roles to myself. Thanks again for a great post!

Yeap, I'd even say that there are a lot of people who love crypto and don't have a single Ether token.

In Facebook, nobody must have it :P

Being an ICO Marketing Consultant, how were the rates? Im curious.

Yes exactly!

And it really varies per project, happy to talk to you more about it if you are interested in the area. Hit me up on Steemit Chat or Discord (@lukebrn#3369)

@rok-sivante, did you make a typo here:

"Many of us here on Steemit may have developed our preferences for this platform over Steemit"

Love the part on

"Crypto isn't just a profitable opportunity.

It's a completely innovative technology.

It's a means to changing the world in many of the ways we've been wishing for.

It's a totally transformative shift in economics and culture, the impact of which is difficult to begin really explaining, the extent of which can't really be over-estimated.

And, crypto and blockchain aren't just technologies.

They're portals to entirely new collaborative, governance, business, and societal models."

Very well written sir, very well written. In the future, blockchain will become defacto standard. I wonder how SMTs will affect traditional websites and shake thing up. Looking forward, it will be a new crypto world order here. What are the limits, no one knows.

💗

Scrolled down with the intent to let you know of this too big bro.

Should have read "Facebook"

yep, that definitely would've been a mistake.

thanks for pointing it out. 🙏

The crypto world is so broad that newbies like myself may get lost if not properly guided. I have heard of many coin but don't know on which to invest because there is no formal guide on that.

Steem has been the only crypto currency known by most newbies. If what you assert about Facebook ban on crypto is to save us from scam, then it is a nice idea.

When it comes to investing, you shouldn't look for guides.

You should always investigate the cryptos and the underlying technology yourself as to take an informed decision.

Crypto is such a new niche that there's no proven way to find out what's bullshit or not... you have your own mind to turn to man, don't be influenced ;)
Cheers

You just gave me a guide. If no one has never told me this, how will I know.

Now I understand better.

I'd recommend reading through this:

An Inside Look At A Successful Crypto Portfolio ~ Parts One, Two, Three, and Four.

contains excellent tips, insights and overviews of investing principles in action. pace and digest, and should upgrade your perception to see things with greater clarity... ;-)

Thank you very much @rok-sivante.

I have a little suggestion, I have also written a little about this news, if you are ready please visit my blog here.

From the news, according to my point of view there is no harm in playing crypto. Crypto is one budget that is prepared in such a way, for investment, looking for profit or then will lose. Only two choices, losses or profits, everyone who has done this will certainly be ready to accept any risks that will arise. Whether they will make a profit or not, this is not an economic boom. Cryptocurrency has been created in such a way, just how one can play and control its movement, needs a careful analysis to handle it. If you ask whether Facebook's ban will impact the crypto movement, then I think **"will have little effect on the trading activists, but it will not affect the digital currency of crypto"**. Although the current crypto condition, especially bitcoin is not normal, I suggest to all steemian friends to be passionate and consistent in making post. Although post value is currently experiencing a decline in exchange rates but consistent is needed to create post-post in this platform.

and thanks for your sharing @rok-sivante,

the interesting information I got today ...

I am a beginner steemians and just started learning the basic cryptocurrency, by reading your article adding new knowledge to me.

I also just read the basic and understanding of cryptocurrency in @bangfadhil post.

ok already I vote. do not forget to vote back

better idea: don't tell me what to do because you want something from me.

The #1 Thing To Do If You Want Upvotes (And Exactly What NOT To Earn Follwers And Respect)...

You make a very cogent point; this does hurt the scammers and bullshit ICOs more than anything else. The rest of us are still perfectly entitled to share real quality hard-earned information with our friends and "friends" alike.

and worth considering: the QUALITY ICOs tend to sell out within minutes, without marketing... (no Facebook marketing required.)

Hello @rok-sivante

This is a complete masterpiece! I can't think of anything else to add.

Because this is a new world, which doesn't fit into the old marketing models.

Of course, Crypto doesn't fit into the outdated ways of doing things! What cryptos are facing today are challenges every new concept does face before being accepted by the powers that be. I believe with time, the powers that be won't have any objections to development of cryptos because it is either they join the bandwagon or forgotten by history.

Thanks a lot for this well thought out summation.

So great the post is .I also want to know more about the block chain which is applied in IOT (Internet Of Thing) field. That can be a subversion in IOT

just a few projects fusing blockchain & IOT:

IOTA
VeChain
Walton Chain
Streamr
Datum
Modum
Ambrosus

Nice .i am really keen on that .Thanks a lot

Facebook is going to became history.

I think and in my opinion, the ban of adds are due to the malware attacks in the Crypto world, before we heard that Facebook is studying the Cryptocurrency Market, so in my opinion Facebook would enter into Cryptocurrency market. Let's hope for the best and thanks for sharing this post with us.

Stay Blessed.

keep spirit @rok-sivante you're post is the best
When we dare to start something then we should end it completely. If you are a person full of confidence. Prove to yourself before you prove it in front of others. Take courage to appear in public (Public speaking), do not just be the one who dared to talk behind. People who dare to appear in front of the candidate for the succeses later. Start from now, start from small things, do no matter how small it is. Because the great cousin (the great) is initiated by a small thing. however you have to go through a difficult time if you want to be a great person and known by others.

I conpletely agree with crypto and steemit forming collaboration and a sense of community. I have known some people who joined steemit around july 2017 and they told me how the platform relied on everybody's collaborative support. Everyone was for everyones growth. Sooner, local communities began to emerge and formed smaller groups still with the aim of helping each other. This is what makes steemit so special. Zuckerburg can ban ICO and cryptos all he wants. It is just a threat to his business.

I wont be feeding his pockets with my fb posts anytime soon

After reading your # 1 post, this time I was lucky to be able to participate in reading the second part you wrote. From the news, according to my point of view as a writer in steemit, if I have a passive budget, legitimately play Cryptocurrency, because it is definitely a budget that is prepared for investment and ready to disappear. and it's already the rules, who dare to please try, and who dare not please back off, it is a game that has been designed in such a way, not a fraud, who has joined is certainly ready for profit or loss, profit and loss is things that deserve to be accepted in the world of business, that's all I can add, besides I'm also still deep into this issue, as minnow in steemit that I do we need to do is, comitmen and continue to commit to create good content on this platform, thank you master @rok-sivante, thank you for sharing with us, good luck ....
