Have you heard of book cyphers those always seem cool and hard to break? However they are limited to the words in the book...

Most Masonic manuscripts are in a type of cipher. It is meant to be legible if you know what you are reading because you have heard it in the various ceremonies. I have heard of book ciphers too, but I have not actually ran across one, except to read about them in history.
