CBOE Global Markets president Chris Concannon said that Ethereum (ETH) fates, which the organization has been "considering" since December 2017, could soon be offered, Bloomberg announced Thursday, June 14.
Concannon's remark takes after the news that a senior U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) official expressed that driving altcoin Ethereum won't be controlled as a security.
CBOE's leader said that the SEC's position could imply that the US controller would permit the alternatives trade to add Ether prospects to their portfolio:
"We are satisfied with the SEC's choice to furnish clearness concerning current Ether exchanges. This declaration clears a key hindrance for Ether prospects, the case for which we've been thinking about since we propelled the principal Bitcoin fates in December 2017."
CBOE's December dispatch of Bitcoin (BTC) fates started an extensive rally for the digital money — whose cost at the time on Dec. 10 ascended from around $15,000 to around $16,800 — conveying so much exchanging volume to the site that it briefly went down. The principal prospects contract terminated on Jan. 17 at a cost of around $10,900, making it a win for bears.
Bitcoin fates were in the news this week for different reasons, as Fundstrat's Tom Lee indicated their agreement termination as a conceivable purpose behind Bitcoin's as of late sinking cost.
