My First Cryptocurrency Purchase?
2 weeks and counting, still not completed the 1st order from the initial idea to test how this all works.
So far, it’s not impressive to the noob as by the time you get everything verified and ready to go. Your almost bored of the idea .. I’m sure it quickly fades away with the excitement of the 1st %’s of coin in your newly created wallet! Then only to fade again once you learn the charts, ups and downs.
Let’s do this! Sounds exciting and fun as heck!!
I can still hear those words in my mind when I finally decided to click on the “buy bitcoin now”. Along the journey over time I decided to switch to ETH and that was only cause I need ETH to buy a different coin. By, now.. and many videos, junk, scams .. heck, I do not recall what that coin was but thanks to my trusty daily and by the second at times notes. I'll figure it out later.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been researching and testing different ways to purchase coins, join exchanges, sandbox testing. As of this moment, still not a coin holder.. All wallets are empty and that’s ok with me.
Basically, if you’ve never purchased and want to get started. I highly suggest that you do your own homework. Only use what you can afford to lose, there are normally no refunds. Read the fine print - a few times.
So let’s get started.
As most noob’s I went to search online. “Buy ETH using credit card” - LOL, seriously thought it was going to be as easy as it is to go to the bank and exchange dollars for coins. Maybe in future it will be. Mostly, you're setting up a new "bank account" or the sorts.. it's your money your investing into someone or some other group. They certainly want to ID you to the hilt in some cases. You should also understand who you are dealing with as well.

I actually was on the signup page on Bitconnect and it was one of the active 30 or 40 tabs I had open. By the time I got to that test, the website was closed. That was itself alarming to think.. hmmm

@lordtricky sure for many of the users do not want to be public for many reasons. More about cutting out US and outside borders and the counter action of all the .. Whales, Guppy's and Mystery Investors seek to avoid the new tax laws.
Miner - tax
Send to your wallet - tax
Wallet to the exchange - tax
Exchange to coin - tax
Coin to whatever - tax
Buy a cold beer - tax
That's the #1 reason I can think of.. also, the scammers.. oh those little bad people taking money and running. Do they not understand.. a fool and it's gold soon departed.
Karma is a bitch.. she's mean depending on the level dished out.. lol

Yes i agree its all about that unlawful taxation, but I'm in England, where they made a massive song and dance about gambling becoming tax free... And due to the swings in bitcoin price it is nothing more than gambling that i am doing, therefore no records need keeping, and no tax will ever be paid by me, or anybody else with a functioning brain :)

I'm really sorry you seem to be having so much trouble getting into the market. For me it was simple when I began. I simply setup an account with coinbase (only took a couple minutes), and then setup an account on a few exchanges. Bittrex is the only one that took time to get validated on. I also setup on HitBTC and Binance which didn't ask for any sort of validation. If I can be of any help in any way to get you started, let me know.

Thank you @beastley very kind.. Good news is finally the coins come to the wallet :) As for the other tips, great I've been testing many, many to see what the customer service is like (seems many could use my help) - LOL
Validation is no issue.. have nothing to hide. Just was not used to all the steps, but same in bank just camera is not always in your face - selfie :)
