Save That Drama...Who Cares? Bickering Is A Waste Of Time

Who really cares about who hates on who and all that crap? I was just on a social media site and saw some silly squabble between two random people in the Cryptoverse. Now I'm NOT talking about two people with enormous amounts of followers, these are people with less than ten thousand followers...scratch that..probably about five thousand followers. I'm certainly not one to talk about followers, as I have a fantastic handful of people that follow me here and even less on sites like Twitter. But what does the amount of followers really mean and how many people are you really reaching and influencing out there?

So these two people were 'calling each other out' for talking trash, scamming people, 'buying' followers, and a whole slew of random reasons. I admit that I did get sucked into it and read a bunch of posts and even (embarassingly enough) watched a video about it. That's right, a video about it. I really can't believe that these people are making videos about how much they hate each other, most likely in the hopes to get more followers. Who cares? For real!

Now here's where I'll flip my rant a little bit and sound even older and out-dated than I really am. Keep in mind I'm a youthful and good-lookin' dude who's into hip-hop, crypto, music production, playing guitar and bass, hiking with my dog...you get the picture...I'm your average, kinda cool 40 year old.

That being said...

What the hell ever happened to TV shows, sitcoms, cable tv shows, even Netflix shows that created stars? I mean real stars and not the Kardashians or "The Situation" from Jersey Shore. I'm talking about Alyssa Milano...Neil Patrick Harris...Gary Coleman...Rickie Schroeder...Michael Jordan...Tiffany Amber Thiessen...Gilligan's Island...Good Times...Saved By The Bell...What's Happenin'...Taxi...Family Ties...Will Smith...and Mr. Rogers? I don't know when exactly the shift was, but now those types of stars and personalities are totally in the past and more and more people have already turned to the internet for their entertainment, news, music, etc.

I love having access to all this amazing stuff at my fingertips. Unfortunately this ease and availability of posting something online for all to view has made regular television and its' stars defunct. Between all that and reality tv taking over with the writers strikes many years ago, people are relying on random average new 'stars' that are in the form of 'YouTubers' and the like. These types of personalities have become the tv stars and role models for kids of varying ages...and quite frankly many of these people blatantly suck. They appear to cater to a dumbed-down demographic who are now settling for absolute garbage for entertainment.

So how does that relate to my original frustration about these knuckle-heads on social media having childish beef with one another? These people in these arguments are doing it for attention. They are doing it for attention and followerrs with the belief that this will give them fame and fortune...or something like that. In the Cryptoverse these people think that they actually effect the market of certain coins and tokens and can effect the value of these coins as well. In my opinion that's total bull-crap. You can't tell me that someone with 5,000 followers on their account and had give-aways with chump change can really have an effect on anything but their egos.

I personally don't care and don't even get in the middle of these things on-line but I was sitting here laughing at myself when I actually watched a 2 minute video from one of these people bashing the other.

Being kind and intelligent is usually the best way to be. Being dramatic and blatantly ignorant does perhaps get you followers and some level of name recognition, but at what cost? Integrity!

Thanks for reading my rant. I'm sorry....but not really!

I just saw on Twitter about the same type of bologna going on...and I'm so glad that I don't follow anyone that would make it pop up on my feed. It's great to be a bigger person and ignore it all and move on. It's much more healthy! -Respect
