Crypto For Android

Simple guide to Crypto for Android users, plus some extra love to get you rolling

The world of cryptocurrency can be intimidating and confusing for newcomers. Hopefully this article will help some of you get started. This is not a tutorial on Blockchain or any sort of investment advice, this is just a very simple guide for what to download to your Android phone and get some coins in your pocket.

Wallets | Exchanges | Staying Up To Date | Communications | Freebies | Advanced

  1. Wallets

Where you store your coins

We are going to start with a few basic apps that will greatly enhance your Android Crypto experience. First and foremost you will need a wallet that supports a variety of coins. These will get you started, in the future you will want to look into Cold Storage, Hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger, online wallets, paper wallets, QT wallets and other wallets where YOU own the private keys. For now, stick with the few below.

Coinbase is the standard starter wallet, that also allows you to buy, sell and trade within the app. If you follow my link and deposit at least $100, we both get a bonus $10 added to our account. They also offer a “earn by learning” program to earn free coins.

If your interested in the Ethereum market, the Trust wallet is a good start. It displays ERC-20 tokens, as well as ERC-721 collectibles like CryptoKitties. Lumi Connect, Eidoo and Coinomi are also options worth looking into for multi-coin wallets.

Another similar, but less cryptocentric app is Robinhood, which also offers stocks, options and margin trading. If you follow my link, we both will receive a free share of a random stock. After holding the new stock for 3 days you can trade it for Bitcoin, Ethereum or a few other coins…or sell for USD.

For the Waves Platform, they have the Waves app. Which is set to also have the Waves Decentralized Exchange for trading.

There are MANY other wallets out there, but these will get you ready for the top coins.

  1. Exchanges

Buy. Sell. Trade.

There is an ever-growing number of exchanges out there. These few are a great starting point, covering a large portion of the market and easy to use.

DDEX is an Ethereum exchange on Android. If you follow this link you will receive $5 worth of WETH(Wrapped ETH) to start you off. Its a fantastic place to start, especially for those that want to trade Free tokens they earn from Airdrops. DDEX is not available in all countries. I am looking into other options for Android ETH exchanges, any suggestions, please comment. Using a DAPP browser for ForkDelta seems to be a viable option.

Binance is one of the top players in the crypto exchange world. You may have even heard about them on the news. They now have an Android app, follow this link for a registration bonus discount, and possibly more. Their native BNB coin has been climbing high in the charts recently.

Waves is a unique platform with its own token ecosystem and exchange. They are going through some upgrades recently, and their Android exchange may or may not be functional at the time of writing this.

Those are the first few to start you off. Poloniex, HitBTC and other exchanges have Android apps in production, but not currently available on the Play Store. You can however, access those from your browser. These 3 Android based exchanges will cover a large portion of the market, so no need for any FOMO.

  1. Staying Up To Date

Today in the news…

Hodler provides prices, charts, news, links, coin alarms and more. VERY useful app! Goes hand in hand with CoinTelegraph.

CoinTelegraph offers blockchain news, price analysis and charts, crypto price alerts and more. A must have alongside Hodler. They also offer theCryptopedia, a crypto encyclopedia.

Cant forget Facebook. Follow my page for news, contests and more.

  1. Communications

Staying in touch with the community

The crypto community seems to lean towards a few specific apps for communicating updates, contests and general chat. These are all, basically, MUST HAVE apps to properly function in the cryptouniverse.

Telegram

Medium

Discord

Twitter

There are an insane amount of messaging and chat apps available. Far too many to attempt to list, but these 4 are the bread and butter and will be required if you want to participate in bounties, contests and airdrops.

  1. Freebies

Did somebody just say FREE?

Whether scouring the net for airdrops, hitting all the contests or even completing bounties, there are many options currently available to bring some coin in your pocket and expand your portfolio, without having to spend a single penny.

Airdrops Airdrops are a way for projects to distribute coins/tokens to people who are interested. They usually require sharing of links to social media, following social media accounts and a few other methods. There is potential to earn in excess of $1,000 for a few minutes of work. These days, airdrops are closer to the $20 value mark, but free coin is free coin.

Follow my FB page for airdrop links, alerts, news, contests, fun and more. https://www.facebook.com/BipsoCrypto/

Check out our Facebook airdrop group, tons of links posted every day! https://www.facebook.com/groups/freecrypto/

Bounties

Bounties are tasks that pay you in coins/tokens for the work you submit. Everything from sharing links, to logo design and on up to coding, UI design and other methods

First and foremost, Bounty0x!

Another to bookmark is BountiesAlert.

Faucets

Faucets “drip” small amounts of coins and tokens into your wallet. Most of these are useless, but some are worth signing up for. Here are a couple worth noting:

  1. Advanced

Things to keep in mind as you progress

Here are a few things to keep in mind. Some things you will need today, like an authenticator app, some things you may never need. I will not being going into details on ‘what’ these are, but just giving some ideas for you to DYOR — Do Your Own Research.

You will need an authentication app, to verify logins for exchanges as well as many apps and platforms. I suggestGoogle Authenticator.

To search and interact with dAPPs on the Ethereum platform check out Status. It is also highly recommended to learn about Metamask and Dapper. At least 1 of these will be required once you get deeper into Ethereum.

To interact with the EOS blockchain, check out Scatter.

Masternodes

Recently wrote an article about Low-Entry cost masternodes on Steemit. Good place to start without breaking the bank. https://steemit.com/masternode/@tenblo/cheap-lovin-masternodes

Mining, Staking, Forging and Leasing

These are passive income options. I highly suggest checking these keywords out and seeing if any of the options are right for you. GPU rigs, CPU stacks, FPGA’s and ASIC’s. BTC Lightning Node. Soon to begin staking ETH once the Casper Protocol is in effect. Leasing Waves is a great way to earn weekly passive income on the Waves Platform.

Collectibles

Crypto Kitties, Cheese Wizards, Decentraland Real Estate and so many more. This aspect of cryptocurrency is still in its infancy and will continue to grow beyond what any of us can imagine. I recommend jumping on ALL opportunities to acquire free crypto collectibles! Checkout https://opensea.io/ for whats around.
