Review: Honeyminer- Free Crypto Mining Program

in crypto •  6 years ago

When I first got into crypto I researched earning passive income by cryptocurrency mining and cloud mining and quickly realized you:

  • Need capital to get started
  • Need specialized equipment
  • Need to be very tech savvy
  • Most cloud mining programs are a scam.

So until recently I wrote off crypto mining and focused on learning and deploying my limited time and capital to other aspects of the industry.

Enter Honeyminer

Two prominent crpyto twitter personalities I follow, @coinyeezy and @nondualrandy, launched a free crpyto mining program that does not require any of above, and is legit.

Honeyminer makes mining easy for noobs and people that lack the specialized computer equipment needed for crypto mining (It also caters to advanced miners with soon to be released Honeyminer Pro). Honeyminer gives you free access to a sophisticated cryptocurrency mining software in return for a small share of the total mining earnings generated by your computer. For users with 1 GPU the fee is 8% and for 2 GPUs or more the fee is 2.5%.

If you have a top of the line gaming computer you can earn $2 per day according to Honeyminer. If, like me, you are running it on an old computer your earnings will be significantly less. But, everyone earns, regardless of the type of computer you have. The program is not Mac compatible, but they are planning on releasing a Mac version. Once they do I look forward to increasing my earnings running Honeyminer on my Mac.

How it Works

Honeyminer identifies the most profitable currency to mine at any given moment based on your computer’s specs and the difficulty of each blockchain. Honeyminer auto-converts the crypto you mined to Bitcoin and credits your account with Bitcoin. Honeyminer plans on giving users the option to select what crpyto to mine and to not auto-convert to Bitcoin, but that is not functional yet. You can transfer your earnings to any wallet, like Coinbase![Screen Shot 2018-06-25 at 3.09.00 PM.png], with no restrictions or fees charged by Honeyminer.

Gamification of Mining

Gamification has taken over everything, including mining. Honeyminer has gamified its program to reward frequent users. The more time you have the program running, the more experience points you earn to level up. Each time you level up your account gets a bonus of free satoshis. For example I have 8,611 more experience points to go until I reach Level 21 and receive a bonus of 8 satoshis.

Referral Program

Honeyminer has a simple and easy to use referral program. For anyone you refer you will receive 10% of Honeyminer’s commission and if your friends refer anyone you will receive 5% of Honeyminer’s commission. The person you refer will receive 1,000 satoshis.

Note that the referral commission comes out of Honeyminer’s pocket, it is not an additional commission taxed on the user, on top of Honeyminer’s standard commission.

Pros:

  • Easy to download, set up and launch
  • Free to use
  • Low commissions
  • Referral program- Use my ref link for 1,000 free satoshis when you sign up!
  • Active Telegram channel
  • Can run on a basic laptop computer
  • Not a scam

Cons:

  • Not Mac compatible, yet. They plan on releasing a mac version, but have not released a timeline.
  • Not very profitable if you don’t have a gaming computer
  • Developers are anonymous twitter accounts, but they have been very responsive on twitter, email support, and telegram to users.
  • Honeyminer displays your current day’s earns and past two day’s earnings, but it does not sync to your timezone, so that can be confusing.
