Dear Steemies,
This is my first post here. As a journalist and crypto enthusiast, I have to raise the question about the way media are covering cryptocurrency events, market etc. A lot of fake news are influencing the market. This is for sure driven by an agenda, but also because of not enough crypto educated journalism. Of course, cryptocurrencies are new technology and journalists need some more education about them.
So, what do You think is the best way to build a bridge between these two spheres? How can we educate colleagues of mine not to fall into fake news' trap, driven - most probably - by the Big whales?
Will webinars do the job in this case? Can we have enough impact to educate journalists about crypto basics? Do they want to educate themselves if at all?
Please share Your thoughts if you share the same concerns.
Bests,
Ben.
Journalist. Crypto enthusiast.
The best way to combat fake news is by making decentralized platforms with incentives for others to join. Steemit is one of those platforms, not centrally controlled by a big corporation, but rather by it's own users(witnesses).
Legacy Media will die eventually, decentralized world is coming. Glad to have ya hear!

I heard about Steemit a while ago and decided to join just recently. I find this network really great, but just a bit hard to create an own circle. Hopefully with a hard work I will manage to do it.
Thank You.

Do you hear about DNN(Decentralized New Network), VIDL, and CIVIL?
All of them are a kind of blockchain cryptocurrency based New journalism media.
They have a policy of filtering for fake news.
