Crypto Africa is the name I choose for my post of Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency adoption across Africa.

On today's edition, I write about FinTech companies coming together to create a Blockchain-based identity platform.

South African automated clearing house, BankservAfrica has partnered with Investec which is basically an international banking and asset management group as well as Uport, an identity platform. This partnership aims at working to demonstrate a Blockchain-based digital identity system.

This digital identity prototype is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Moreover, it was demonstrated at the blockchain conference in Johannesburg and it is the work of the South African Finance Blockchain Consortium (SAFBC).

Furthermore, this prototype allows individuals to create an encrypted identity with the Uport mobile application.

Finally, this prototype can be used in conferences, seminars, auditions and to name a few.
