Hello and warm welcome to my Crypto Africa series post.

Crypto Africa is the name I choose for my post of Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency adoption across Africa.

With this article, I present Countries and towns in Africa that are home to bitcoin ATMs.

Currently, there are over 3,500 bitcoin ATMs in the world with a majority of them being found in the United States of America.

However, Africa is home to a handful of bitcoin ATMs with a total of nine bitcoin ATMs being spotted in the continent in these countries;

1. South Africa: South Africa is leading the race when it comes to bitcoin and Cryptocurrency adoption in Africa. The country is home to five bitcoin ATMs situated in the towns of Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Nelspruit.

2. Kenya: The town of Nairobi is home to a bitcoin ATM.

3. Zimbabwe: Golix, a Cryptocurrency exchange based in Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe which is also one of the largest in Africa, runs a bitcoin ATM of its own.

4. Uganda: KIPYA Bit2Big, a blockchain company based in Uganda, runs the only bitcoin ATM Uganda and it is located close to the Kampala Post office.

5. Djibouti: Surprisingly, Djibouti makes the list of African countries that are home to bitcoin ATM. The only bitcoin ATM in this country is located at Appart Hotel Moulk.

Generally, bitcoin ATMs are on the rise across the globe and we would expect to see more of these ATMs especially in other countries like Nigeria, Ghana and Rwanda where there is currently a massive growth of interest in bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.
