Crypto Africa: The Blockchain Payment Platform by South Standard Bank

Hello and warm welcome to my Crypto Africa series post.

Crypto Africa;

Crypto Africa is the name I choose for my post of Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency adoption across Africa.

Today, I talk about the Standard Bank of South Africa creating a blockchain payment platform.

The Standard band of South Africa has been in existence since 1862 and is Africa's biggest asset or legal tender holder. It has 1,212 branches and 9,036 ATMs. This bank offers personal and business banking services.

Just recently, this Standard bank of South Africa that she will launch a blockchain platform that will permit clients to engage in foreign exchange trading.

This blockchain platform will be built on a Hyperledger fabric and it will be compatible with the bank's existing foreign currency trading application known as Shift. This platform is expected to go live during the second quarter of this year.

Also, the bank is planning to extend its platform to China by working or partnering with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

However it may look, this move will bring light to South Africa as other institutions and organizations will try to adoption blockchain technology as well.
