Arsenic Lullaby - Makersplace illustrations

in cryptoart •  6 years ago  (edited)

A little while ago I joined a site called markersplace on the advice of @sanderjansenart

To be completely honest, I'm still fuzzy on what a blockchain is and I only just this week uploaded stuff to comixology (more on that later) , BUT what this is IS a place where you can buy a digital work of art...and somehow through blockchain technology, no one else can have it.

...

...I really don't understand how all this works.

Nonetheless, I have about seven illustrations up there and you can trade in some crypto (while it still has value, hahaha...sigh) and get a blockchain numbered hi-res digital file. It's actually a cool idea now that I think about it. Like...you can get a comic book off of comixology or a mp3 of a song...but there is no collectable value in that. There is no first pressing of the album or first edition of the book. THIS however is a block chain provable first edition.

...maybe I am starting to understand this stuff after all. The trick is you keep using the term "block chain" until your brain gets tired of using it without understanding it and forces itself to attach a meaning to it.

anyhooo...I got an email from one of the folks on Markersplace that I'll share with you here and then show off the stuff of mine that you could get there ---

---Hope your week is off to a great start. We are planning a number of launch efforts this week, as part of our promotional event.

To help you gain additional exposure from this, we ask that you share your MakersPlace store on your other social networks using #empoweredcreator #cryptoart #makersplace tags. For example:

Check out my collection of limited edition digital artwork: https://makersplace.com/store/arseniclullaby/ #makersplace #empoweredcreator #cryptoart

Every day this week we will also help promote and/or feature newly created artwork across our audience of 20.1K followers, so be sure to publish new works, and let me know about them.

If you'd like to learn more, here is our blog post that shares the details of our launch and our mission to empower creators like you.

Liking and sharing will be really helpful.

Cheers,

Err... I think the turtle would depress me too much. I vote Tick. Now that I think about it, I guess I’m saying that your suffering would have less emotional impact on me than an animals. Kinda true. I like animals more than people most times. My apologies, but I’m sure you understand!

I’ve had my eye on some of these blockchain limited edition art technologies. I’m intrigued by how it could also allow those who now work digitally to sell “original” artwork with a 1/1 edition pencilled or inked page file. Likewise, traceable “print runs” of digital comics, etc. Lots of applications. Intrigued to see where this goes for you.

That poor turtle. People really suck, but we love your art.

#comics Definitely the Tick.

They basically generate crypto code for the artworks you submitted there, so each artwork is then made "unique" and therefore VERY COLLECTIBLE.

GOOD LUCK with MakersPlace, Doug :D

I can't decide between the turtle and the tick. I think the turtle would be depressing but you have a knack of making depressing things funny and I'm morbidly curious.............

Congrats on the feature!

I vote for the turtle, everyone needs to know the truth XD

I've also put up some fractals on makersplace, mostly because I wanted to check out the whole thing. You still have to promote it yourself on social media and since I have no such skills or circles, I guess it will stay there forgotten forever! Good luck to you though, your art is great although I detect some hidden depression and darkness ;)

As for the next post, I'd like to read more about the turtle and how pollution can alter the ecosystem; it's not always subtle & indirect, and it does not take hundreds of years, it seems.

" I detect some hidden depression and darkness ;)"
Hidden? LOL sigh.
As far as Makersplace ,Like you said you still have to promote your being there...I'm gonna plug the Makersplace thing on a few places and see what happens.
