DJ SCRILLA RELEASES ‘I WEAR GUCCI’ SINGLE: BEATS AND CRYPTO CONVERGE
IN A SKEWED TRIBUTE TO CRAIG WRIGHT

Bitcoin Cash Fork Instigator Is the Focus of Accomplished Cryptoartist in New Hip Hop
Song and Video; Original Cryptoart Assets Available on Superrare.co, Plus Limited Edition VHS Copies

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 27, 2018: The prolific cryptoartist DJ J Scrilla has launched his latest single with “I Wear Gucci,” an entrancing hip hop track paying homage to the notorious Bitcoin Cash Fork instigator Craig Wright. Accompanying the song’s release are a wealth of cryptoart and old school analog assets, including a moving graphics album cover digital .gif available on Superrare.co, Proof of Share (PoSH) #IWEARGUCCI tokens, four limited-edition VHS copies of the video, and more.

A prominent member of the Cryptoart and Cryptomusic communities, Scrilla first made waves with the release of the crypto audio meme, Can’t Smoke a Bitcoin earlier this year. As with “I Wear Gucci,” the work puts an uncomfortable spotlight on Wright, who heads up Bitcoin Cash SV (BCHSV) and helped set off the attacks against Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHABC) that resulted in the recent BCH hard fork.

“Craig Steven Wright, a.k.a. ‘Faketoshi’ is the meglomaniac of the Bitcoin world, and I wanted to highlight his pompousness with a tribute song,” says the DC-based Scrilla. “While the song takes shots at CSW, I want to be clear that ‘I Wear Gucci’ doesn’t hate on him — it’s more a celebration of a pop star in the crypto world.”
The song, a darkly hypnotic mélange of beats, synths, and Craig Wright samples, is perfectly accompanied by the lo-fi, high-concept video. Directed, edited and shot by Emoji Nakamoto (Twitter: @emojinakamoto), the video’s VHS tape theme cuts through with 1980’s style special effects, imposed on imagery of Scrilla in action adorned with a 3D-printed mask of Craig Wright’s face.

Four ultra-rare copies of “I Wear Gucci” B/W “Can’t Smoke a Bitcoin” will be made available to fans. In the digital realm, Scrilla is offering 1/1 digital .gif of the album cover on the blockchain-powered art site Superrare.co and a Bitcorns remix card. Additionally, Proof of Share (PoSH) IWEARGUCCI tokens can be earned by fans who retweet or hashtag #IWEARGUCCI by January 1, 2019.

While DJ Scrilla emphasizes that his Craig Wright digs come from a place of fun — not snarkiness — he has a serious mission when it comes to spreading his unique blend of blockchain, music, and art. “This is something that all technology needs when it’s starting out,” he explains. “We need artists and musicians to paint a picture of what’s going on. Music helps people engage with bitcoin, cryptocurrency and blockchain by making this ‘boring’ database tech more approachable. Of course, it also helps to have characters like Craig Wright around to help make it happen!”
