Opera has announced the launch of the "Crypto Browser Project– - a browser designed to work with Web 3 projects.
The central element of the browser is Opera's own cryptocurrency wallet, and its distinctive feature is that users do not have to re-enter the wallet for each new tab.
"Our new non-custodial wallet has a number of improvements compared to the previous version and will eventually replace wallets in our other browsers. It is planned to add support for ETH, ERC-20, ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens for the first quarter. In addition, it will allow you to buy cryptocurrency for fiat currency, exchange cryptocurrency directly in your wallet, send and receive tokens, as well as check the balance and commissions."
Now the Opera wallet works exclusively with Ethereum applications, but in the near future it is planned to add support for the Polygon and Solana networks.
"We believe that browsers will play a more significant role in Web3 than they did in Web2. We have been working for about 25 years, and with Web3 - since 2018. The token strategy with support for multiple chains will be key for good user interaction," the company said.
Crypto Browser Project is available in open beta format for devices running Windows, macOS and Android. The browser also has built-in functions, including news, calendar of events and airdrops, NFT, information about cryptocurrency prices, commissions and market sentiment.
