Philippines is a Cryptocurrency friendly country
2017 has been a great year for cryptocurrencies in general. Mass adaptation is just around the corner and the prices of cryptocurrencies have never been this high before. Some countries have taken steps to regulate them and some has banned them for fear of losing their control of Money. Luckily in the Philippines government and its Central Bank has sought to regulate it instead of banning them. In fact as early as January of 2017 the central bank of the Philippines released a Memo or Cirular detailing guidelines for cryptocurrencies which they call "Virtual Currencies." In fact just recently the Central Bank of the Philippines has issued one of the premier Bitcoin remittance providers- Coins.ph an EMI license (electronic money institution) which is typically given to financial institutions like banks.
Philippines Bitcoin distribution channels
There is only one confirmed Bitcoin ATM and this is located here:
No worries if you have Abra and Coins.ph bitcoin wallet you can cash-out your bitcoins through the thousands of money remittance centers scattered all over the Philippines. Some of the most famous of them are shown below:
Coins.ph has also the option to Cash-out through a Security Bank's ATM without having to use an ATM card. Virtually making all Security Bank ATM Bitcoin ATM machines.
If you want to Top-Up or reload your Bitcoin wallet you may do so through the thousands of remittance outlets available around the Philippines like those mentioned earlier in this article. In Coins.ph you may reload or Buy Bitcoins via Cliqq kiosk which is available in most of the 2000+ outlets of 711 convenience store scattered around the Philippines. A sample image is shown below:
Other Bitcoin Service Providers
Much of my articles focuses on the you of Abra and Coins.ph as the primary instruments in storing and using bitcoins. There is another Bitcoin service provider that has been known to this author for quite sometime now and have read somewhere that it was the first Philippine base Bitcoin company. The name of the company is: Satoshi Citadel Industries or SCI
SCI has a wide range of bitcoin related services, ranging from buying and selling bitcoins, bitcoin remittance service, bitcoin prepaid cards, merchant payment processor and they even have their own bitcoin wallet which you can also Top-Up or reload in any Cliqq kiosk in most 711 convenience store like Coins.ph. This wallet is called BitBit.
Philippine Bitcoin/Cryptocurrencies organizations/communities
There is also a healthy number of groups local organization that advocate cryptocurrencies. One of which is co-founded by yours truly (you can learn more about it here.) Another non-profit organization you might want to check out is the Philippine Bitcoin Oraganization
As one can see cryptocurrency is booming here in the Philippines. of course there is still a lot that can be improved like inclusion of other cryptocurrency like Ethereum based tokens and Dash. Exciting times ahead in the Philippine cryptosphere as more and more people learn about bitcoins and cryptocurrencies in general. Actually it is the opinion of this author that the Philippines or Filipino people is the perfect crypto market. There is an untapped $32.8B US dollars market up for grabs. Why? I will answer that question on one of my next articles :).
As a parting token I would like to share with you a picture I have downloaded months ago. It is a Bitcoin Convenience Store in the Philippines! Not sure when or where (probably Davao) it was taken but I am sure it is in the Philippines. (will cite source when I find it again.)

Philippines people are very innovative. Good step taken by the government and nice acceptability by the people.
