Vertcoin - The chart tells a different story to what you may think

Looking at the following chart of Vertcoin, it paints a truly terrible picture:

The thing you need to know about this chart though - is that it is actually an hourly chart covering a period in mid october. Here's what happened next:

Now lets step back a little, and take a look at the actual longer term trend of Vertcoin. Here is the weekly chart, covering the last 12 months

If you bought in February, you would have loved the 4 bullish months that followed.

If you bought in June, you would have hated the subsequent 3 months bear period.

And what happened after that? The price skyrocketed in mid October and has been beareish ever since - you'd call that 3 months now.

All of these charts are vs BTC. Obviously the market is going through what you might call "carnage" right now, but it's all temporary - it'll bounce back. Some people might get scared and sell, others will see the opportunity to buy.

Back to VTC though - the weekly chart shows that this coin has been trending upwards for nearly 12 months now - despite the multi-month bear periods it's gone through throughout the year.

I firmly believe we'll see a bullish period starting some time soon, possibly very soon.

This coin has too much going for it. There are many coins that have shot up in recent weeks based on nothing but hypes. Some don't even have a working product, others don't have wallets, some have slow transactions and others have transactions that often don't get processed.

What Vertcoin does have though - is years of a solid blockchhain that has been live. It has true decentralisation. It has a great community (just check out how active the reddit or discord is, or how fast the donation funds are growing), and an awesome and dedicated development team. It is one of the coins that are furthest progressed with the lightening network. Stealth addresses are coming soon - AMD mining is being optimised so even more Gamers can mine this coin with existing hardware, without the need for specialised ASICS that end up centralising and slowing down a coin. It already has ledger support, and has a new iOS wallet awaiting Apple approval.

The only thing that's stopped me buying more is being over exposed - over the years i've learnt that no matter how bullish I am about an investment, to try and resist the urge to give up my diversification. Having said that, I got paid today, and I know what I'll be doing during my lunch break tomorrow.
