Last Week Tonight with John Oliver had one very interesting segment last night, a segment about cryptoccurencies and it was funny as hell. In a 20 minute segment everything was mentioned, from BTC, blockchain, ICOs, and of course everyone's favorite Bitconnect! I was also quite surprised when they mentioned EOS and how it's value without a product is very inflated. They also talked about Doge coin, how essentially a joke currency was worth more than a billion dollars on the market cap.
In most I'd say they did an excellent job reporting about cryptos, although they did say it all looks like gambling, for any new comer it might seem that way, but for us veterans it is way more than just a gamble, it is a life changing opportunity.
I was like that guy Dan from the offices who couldn't shut up about bitcoin, but everyone who listened and took it seriously is swimming in dough, but alright I won't brag too much :)
Check it out, you will laugh and perhaps start to invest more wisely. It is a must watch.
thanks for update crytocurrency news☺

It was really well done, informative and funny as hell. As someone who has only read things online, I wish they would have delved more into Brock Pierce https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/05/some-in-bitcoin-group-resign-over-new-board-members-link-to-sex-abuse/

Something about that guy seems off. His shady past, the way he acts.. something is just off. I don't like his involvement with EOS at all. But, who knows perhaps he changed his ways.

I watched this and thought Oliver did a great job......until he got to EOS. Sorry but I am of the opposite opinion on Brock Pierce. All I've ever heard from him is good things. He seems genuine, only talks of love and wanting to change the world for the better.
The small segments picked out for derision by the show are exactly the kind of things it is easy for any comedian to take the piss out of. I love John Oliver but they were cheap shots and taken out of the context of the whole EOS vision, which made them look weird.
Pierce IS an unusual character - he doesn't follow the "norms" of society and it's easy for "norms" to laugh at people who don't dress or talk or live to their standards.
So what, he goes to Burning Man and had a wedding where people dressed a bit differently? Who cares? What does this have to do with anything? So he likes sacred geometry? Why should that bother anyone?
He's a successful man involved in what will be, in my opinion, a successful project and I reckon Oliver will be eating his words in years to come.
There's a lot more to EOS than Brock Pierce but they failed to mention that - it really does have the potential to change the world. And that's why so many are buying into it early. A real shame when society's first reaction is always to shout "Scam!" at everything.
Is EOS over-valued? Personally I don't think so because I see the big vision and where it could go. I might be wrong of course, but I'd say EOS is a bargain if you're playing the long game. And it's all just a game at the end of the day. If you don't understand that, you shouldn't be in cryptos.
I suppose this is all done for comedy, so I won't get too bothered by it, I just thought EOS was a strange one to pick up on, out of all the potentially bad coins. Would they have done it without having a leftfield character like Pierce to jeer and sneer at? I doubt it.
Anyway, it won't stop me watching the show, which is superb, and loved the Bitconnect bit :)
Just think it's so easy to say someone is "a bit off" when judging them on a couple of clips. I've watched hours of him talking and think Pierce is an inspiration - he says the right things, at least!

It is mostly about his sexual misconduct in the past. Makes him an easy target for comedy. Considering EOS I'm a believer don't you worry. Forever HODL :)

But according to what I've read, he hasn't even been charged with any misconduct, so what's the big deal? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Check out this interview with Pierce, this was my introduction to him:
He talks about "Kaizen" which is something I know about and try to live by.
I'm literally just about to buy more EOS now :)

Not being charged with something does not automatically mean one is innocent lol. Just because one has not been "proven guilty" in a court of laws judged by a handful of humans in a room, definitely does not make one "innocent".
A decent amount of big deal issues mentioned in this persons Steemit post https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@fortified/brock-pierce-or-is-billionaire-bitcoin-board-member-founder-of-tether-and-alleged-pedophile-a-covert-cia-asset includes tons of links and court document stuff ( I currently have this up in a different tab https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/1200668-brock-pierce-deposition-faswag.html#document/p11/a164022 and this page too https://medium.com/@cuttlefish_btc/brock-pierce-timeline-a230ad1ecdc5 )
I had not seen that Steemit post by @fortified before now, and I actually dislike the amount of bias in the way the person wrote it, but if you look through the post, all the information has been out there, just they put it in a nice collected way. I was going to comment about a documentary I had seen that had nothing to do with cryptocurrency and Brock Pierce definitely got a mention, really worth watching, full thing can be seen here
I'm sharing all these links because I have as much information as anyone else does out there, but I would be careful on investing in something that may have some really bad elements tied to some of the top investors. I would look into all the people that resigned from the Bitcoin Foundation or threatened to because Brock was a part of it, that was a big deal when that went down, and I can definitely picture a similar incident with EOS happening. The timeline from the Medium post is probably better than the Steemit post.
Edit: Found this post on reddit by Brock himself https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/25z3vr/here_is_the_entire_letter_from_brock_pierce_that/ and then if you scroll down points are still brought up that I'm not seeing him speak on in that post or anywhere else online (others actually mention it to that he cherry picks his responses).

I found this quote on an article about the definition of innocent until proven guilty:
In practice, the presumption of innocence is animated by the requirement that the government prove the charges against the defendant Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. The requirement that a person suspected of a crime be presumed innocent also is mandated in statutes and court opinions
Well if there were no charges, never mind proven beyond all doubt, then there's no way anyone can say he is guilty - not in the eyes of the law. It's all just speculation and heresay and personal opinion otherwise. Even you suspecting him, still means nothing - he is innocent in the eyes of the law.
I'm not on anyone's side here, I haven't read deeply into the case and don't plan to but have read enough to know he is innocent technically - but none of us will probably ever know what really happened. The Foundation resignments I read about but again, it's based on speculation - and there were two other people who they also felt were dodgy.
Appreciate all the info though, I really do :)
