The Arcona team developed a special app that was the first step in preparing to port ArconaCore, the core of an augmented reality platform to Android smartphones. At the moment they have conducted a series of tests on gadgets provided by a potential partner.
To solve the problem of adapting ArconaCore algorithms to the requirements of the new operating system, an application was created to test smartphones of various manufacturers. The main metrics will be the accuracy of placement of 3D objects, stability of positioning and stability of operation of SLAM technology.
Earlier, a demonstration application, a prototype ARViewer, was created for iOS devices, which showed high reliability and accuracy of remote installation of virtual content.
Arcona team are sure that in the near future they will achieve equally impressive results for Android smartphones.
