In version 53 beta of the Opera mobile browser for Android, support for BTC, TRX and TRC-10 tokens has been added.
In a blog post, an Internet browser developer reported that users of Opera’s mobile application for Android with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet can now send and receive BTC, TRX and TRC-10 standard tokens, and that web pages can also request and receive addresses for users with the purpose of performing transactions with Bitcoin.
Despite the fact that Opera's built-in cryptocurrency wallet has already supported ETH and ERC standard tokens, the company's blog says that the introduction of BTC support into Web 3.0 will encourage the use of the asset not only for speculation and capital preservation, but also for payments.
In anticipation of the launch of support for Android in May of this year, Opera developers added TRX and TRC-10 standard tokens to the desktop version of the browser. In early April, Opera launched a desktop version of the browser with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. The software enables users to interact with decentralized Ethereum-based applications (dapps) and Web 3.
In addition, Ontology and Opera have recently merged to develop decentralized funding and applications.
