Bitsoko is an open-source mobile services for micro, small and medium enterprisesis. It also serves as a mobile money wallet app and a point of sale (PoS) services in Kenya. Bitsoko will allow small and medium size enterprises to manage their businesses online. This app will permit consumers to pay for goods and services by mobile money and/or Bitcoin.

The app has been through several testing and debugging processes and is predicted to hit the Kenyan market anytime soon.

The CEO and founder of Bitsoko, Frank Deya said in an interview that they are eyeing towards creating their own token in future as it will serve as a means for businesses to digitize their assets. He also added that tokenization is their major target because they believe tokenization will lead to the creation of new wealth and enhance transparency.

Cryptocurrencies are currently unregulated in Kenya but it should be noted that Kenya’s Treasury Has Two Weeks To Conclude On Regulating Cryptocurrencies. However, Deya feels it is too early to regulate Cryptocurrencies in the country and that Inclusive participation rather than monopoly will help to ensure a proper regulation that will not compromise the livelihood of Kenyans already in the space.
