There are a few new coins being considered for development, some of which are from corporations. Three I'll talk about come from Amazon, Discord, and Donald Trump.
Amazon is looking at marketing a coin built on their storefront. At initial release, all customers who set up a wallet will get 16% of their purchases (not counting taxes or shipping) redeemed in their coin. Similar to Bitcoin, this reward value will go down by half over time until it reaches 1%. You will eventually be able to make purchases with this, but probably not until they get a better idea of how their market will work. The names currently being considered for the coin are AMAs, AMs (alms?), and ZONs. I kinda like ZONs.
Discord is also considering one, called RPG. You will earn token points for each of your active chatrooms and how active you are as a user. And payouts will happen after a certain threshold is reached. They are in discussion with roll20 and fantasygrounds to team up on the project to reward people for gaming. They're biggest hurdle at the moment is, of course, minimizing chat spamming for profit. No solution has been announced at this time, so this coin could be quite delayed. As awesome as it sounds, don't hold your breath for it.
And thirdly is Trumpcoin, its tag being TRUMP. Who would have thought. Very little worthwhile information has been released about it, but the hype is selling like hotcakes in hill billy territory. Trump did have this to say about it though. "TRUMP will be the greatest coin the world has ever seen. It's the greatest coin. It's the greatest already. And it's better than Bitcoin. It's better than Bitcoin and it's better than so many coins. So many coins. And it's already worth millions! Already worth millions, and millions will be produced. My coin will be worth millions from day one, and it can only grow, folks. It can only grow." He continued for quite a bit in this way. Not really sure if there's any validity to this claim, and there was no explanation on how to acquire any. I doubt this coin will ever happen, but it looks like it's helping crypto to reach a new demographic: the hardcore Republicans. Second mortgages have been taken out in the past week in trailer parks in record number to get ready to invest in this coin. It's even becoming some communities' political slogan as it were: "Double mortgage for double wides. Buy Trump Coin!" I don't know if this is really healthy behavior, but such exposure might push crypto to gain wider acceptance.
