Matchpool is a platform that creates human connections.

It is a platform for  matchmakers by allowing anyone to create their own community ‘pool’ for  free and invite their members to their pool. End users of our  platform will be able to find connections on the app by joining the  pools that best cater to their needs.  As the cryptocurrency space grows in popularity, one will find a  number of projects that are aiming to push cryptocurrencies to the next  level. Like many others in the crypto-space,  a project that I  believe perfectly captures the potential of cryptocurrencies. It is with  great excitement that I introduce to you Matchpool, the first Ethereum  based social network.

 

Matchmaking

We are building the first platform for  mainstream matchmaking powered by a cryptographic token economy. Tokens  (Guppies) can be purchased or sold with real money. Matchpool’s trusted  algorithm rewards users automatically across the platform.  

 

Rules & Rewards

Anyone can open and manage their own  ‘pool’ and become a community / pool owner. A pool owner can set their  own ‘pool rules’ and terms. Pool owners are rewarded when they create  matches inside of their pool.

 Matchpool enables its users to create a group, or ‘Matchmaking  Pool’. The owner of these pools, also known as ‘Poolmakers’, have the  opportunity to earn rewards for matching members within their pool. As  well as creating a Matchmaking Pool, users can also be members of pools  themselves. A user can get involved in any pool that they so desire,  this allows them to find a person or service that they may require.

To  make the world more synchronistic and connected within communities by  creating a fair, incentivised based community platform that will enable  anyone to open their own community inside the network. An  internal reward mechanism will help facilitate connections in a positive  way.

 PoolMakers
As a Poolmaker, you have a lot of options regarding how you run your pool, you can:
•   Set entrance rules
•   Configure your revenue streams
•   Configure settings for pool members Matchpool also incorporates a reputation system into the platform.  This enables a user to make an informed decision as to which pool to get  involved with, based on the reputation of the Poolmaker. As a  Poolmaker, as your reputation as a matchmaker increases, the temperature  of your pool will also gradually rise. Thus, the higher your  temperature, the more reputable you appear before your fellow users. Tokens
Matchpool utilises the Guppy (GUP) token to facilitate the internal  reward mechanism. Any user interested in creating their own pool must  first place a GUP deposit, this will be returned upon the closing down  of a pool. More importantly, Poolmakers can earn GUP by successfully  matching pool members, or by having an entrance fee or subscription fee  to their pool. 

 What’s gup?

Matchpool  is a decentralized matchmaking protocol which uses group dynamics to  help participants match with each other. It can also be used as a more  generic platform for any kind of paid membership community which can  clearly define two sides of an interaction or market. This paper  presents the elements of the platform: the Ethereum smart contracts  which handle the trust-sensitive ownership and reward structures, as  well as the core game logic which makes it work. Finally we lay out a  two year roadmap for launching and scaling the network, including a  detailed specification of the Guppy token (GUP), which will play an  integral role in its development.
