PASC Pascalcoin Starting from Scratch with No Account and How to Get an PASA Account

If you want to mine Pascalcoin there are a few ways to get a free PASA account. There’s no need to pay anyone for an account. Accounts are generated by mining so you can either try the Nanopool method below and mine yourself an account or one of the other methods mentioned here.

First thing you need to do – Download and install the Pascalcoin official wallet http://www.pascalcoin.org/#wallets

• Go to Project – Private Keys
• Generate a new Private Key (keep this secret!)
• Click the key, and then choose Export Public Key
• Copy the public key to a notepad or keep it accessible. It is ok to show your public key to the public

Your public key will look something like 3Gh... at the beginning.

Are there other wallets? Yes. I chose this one because I personally like to try the official wallet when I am starting out and this is the one I have knowledge about.

Methods to Getting a Free Account

Easiest - Telegram (12/2017)
The way I obtained my first PASA Pascalcoin account was to join the official PascalCoin Telegram (https://t.me/pascalcoin) and message the bot:
/getpasa YOURPUBLICKEY
It’s a little funny if you use the autocomplete… you will see ;) But try again and paste in your public key after the /getpasa.

The bot will gift you a free PASA account in this format: 1234567. Your account will begin to show up in your local wallet that you downloaded and installed earlier as 12345-67 and be yellow/orange, then turn lighter green, then full green. You can type in your account number in the Find Account: search box on your wallet to find it and watch the progress. It should be happening fairly quickly within 15 minutes or so.

Other Ways

There are other free ways to obtain a PASA account: one method is to join the Poloniex exchange, which is a very reputable exchange and currently as of this writing (Dec. 2017) the only one to trade Pascalcoin. Poloniex asks for a lot of personal information to verify an account so you might not be ready to do that and you will need a webcam and identification. But in any case you can create a Pascal account on the exchange and it will issue you an account which you can mine directly to, saving yourself some transferring fees and adding convenience.

Another method I have heard about is to just start mining on Nanopool using your Pascalcoin public key in the mining settings in place of the wallet address (be sure to have your email and worker set up properly). After 20 pasc have been mined, Nanopool will issue accounts to you. I have not personally done it this way yet so if you try it out let me know if it works! Keep in mind it might take smaller less-poweful GPUs a little time to mine 20 pasc so the wait might be a while.

Can't I Just Buy an Account?

Sure you can. On some Discords, Telegrams, forums, and web/host 3rd party wallets people will give accounts for free and some are selling. It is up to you what methods you choose (and to pay) but there is nothing wrong with getting a free account because you will be mining – and mining is what keeps the network healthy and operating.

You will do your part and pay it forward some day. When I received my account the gifter included a message “Good luck” in the Payload which is the memo part of the wallet. You will also earn additional accounts that you can give away in the future if you choose because mining generates accounts. That’s one of the neat things I like about Pascalcoin is the built in way the community helps one another by encouraging giving (accounts) and participating by mining.
