Just minutes ago new information come to the light about important update of Synereo coming in September.
Synereo Alpha Going Online – Here’s What You Can Expect
After two years of development and refinement, Synereo’s decentralized, open-source social network’s alpha version will become available this September.Synereo’s alpha is the world’s first fully decentralized social network based on an attention economy. Say goodbye to the giant server farms and skewed algorithms of incumbent social-media giants like Facebook and Twitter, which prey on your personal information and sell it to the highest bidder, and say hello to Synereo, where you are rewarded for creating and curating content your friends and communities love.
On the Synereo network, you’re not mere users. You control your network and all you create on it. Synereo can’t store your personal information, track your user history, or treat you as a “target group” for customized ad campaigns. And if someone wants your attention, they’ll pay you for it. Your privacy is guaranteed, not by the virtue of our good manners, but thanks to Synereo’s cutting-edge decentralized architecture, which renders your data as hackproof as the Bitcoins in your crypto wallet.
What you can expect in the upcoming version:
- Deployment of decentralized nodes on your local machines
- Creation of private connections between users
- Text posting with featured image (hosted on the decentralized cloud)
- Content labels (#hashtags)
- Decentralized search capability by label and user
- Content amplification with test-net AMPs (expect more info about this and how test-net AMPs will be exchangeable for real AMPs)
- 3-tier content viewing: browse, expand, and full view
- AMP rewards for completing certain actions on the application, as well as for opting to report usage statistics relating to the attention economy
With this alpha release, we invite the community to a deeper conversation about the applications’s user experience, the attention economy powering it, and planned upcoming features that will be added to the application piece by piece in the weeks and months following.
But it doesn’t stop here. Synereo’s alpha is much more than a P2P social media network.Essentially, it is the top layer of a complete decentralized tech stack – the Synereo platform – that our partners are already using to create fully decentralized applications (dApps) and protocols on. The Synereo team intends to create and support more dApps, as well as partner with many other teams, to bring the best applications of the old web into the new decentralized paradigm. This is why CEO Dor Konforty refers to the Synereo platform as “Android for the decentralized web.”
We regard the release of the Synereo alpha as a major step towards the creation of this decentralized application ecosystem, facilitating a completely new, decentralized economy. We’re excited to take this step, heralding a new stage in the life of the Synereo project, and are happy to have you with us.
Cool man, Thanks for sharing with us @arvydas

I find it crazy funny that this is being posted on Steemit --> Social-media-ception
"fully decentralized social network based on an attention economy" and isn't steemit first ? I'm not a steemit fanboy I'm just saying :)

Why not? Similar projects can live alongside and people can choose what they want.
