The HODL challenge - Post 1

I have decided that my first post on Steemit would be a HODL challenge which is all meant to be some fun. The challenge will consist of $20 worth of 25 coins/tokens. A low amount with a diverse portfolio may not be appealing to some but to beginners it might be something to follow. 

My rules are:

• coins must be under $5;
• no cashing out to 30 June 2018; 
• updates in Steemit constantly to track and identify trends; and
• no trading to accumulate more coins for the challenge. 

Exchanges used

Kucoin - This is an amazing up and coming exchange which evolves everyday. If you hold Kucoin tokens on the Kucoin exchange you will earn a percentage of the trading fees on the exchange. So while this exchange grows you should purchase KuCoins as the increased volume will see higher payouts. Also they are giving away $1mil in Bitcoin to Kucoin holders as a thank you very soon. 

Binance -  Binance is another great and easy exchange to use. It has a lot more volume than Kucoin but i would still say Kucoin is better to use. 

Bittrex - The biggest exchange that i use, when a coin gets hot on Bittrex you can make some great trading gains but be careful you can also get burnt a little with the quick turnovers. 

Cryptopia - A smaller exchange which also allows you to trade with DOGEcoin. You will also find a lot of low value satoshi coins which may one day come out of no where and make you some good money.

Liqui - I don't use this exchange often and only used it for one coin as it was recently released and only to this exchange. 

The coins/tokens

Why these coins?

Ripple - A lot of hype and rumor about Ripple that it is hard to ignore. Even though the HODL challenge misses out on the recent big gains perhaps there is more?

IOTA - The Tangle. No fees, IOTA could be the future of payments.

TRON - Lots of news about TRON if you haven't heard please research this. Great communication gives this coin hype and people believe the future could be bright!

Electroneum - This coin came out of ICO with some issues where miners were able to sell but ICO holders had to wait, once ICO holders had their coins it still stayed roughly x10 ICO price. It's only on one smaller exchange, has an amazing marketing team and aiming to make crypto easy to new comers.

Power Ledger - Another coin with great communication and team. The idea and a working product is of great appeal, expecting big gains in 2018.

Dent - In a way similar to Power Ledger but with mobile data. They have just released the first app to the USA and Mexico which enables people to sell unused mobile data at cheaper rates than current telcos

FunFair - A gambling coin, we all know gambling is big with FIAT. I am sure it will grow with cryptocurrencies.

Dragonchain - Disney involvement, new to market.

Ethos - It's aim is to be the next coinbase but with more coins.

Dentacoin - I wanted to add a coin which was under 1c and had some traction. This one is for the dental industry and already has dentists on board. Time will tell if it will be adopted.

Einsteiniem - Buying the massive dip, unfortunately this coin was bought and dumped on a terrible announcement.

Red Pulse - This team has woken up and so has the trading.

ETHLend - Lend is similar to SALT in a way and we have seen what has happened with SALT recently.

Enjin Coin - This coin is involved with the game Minecraft which is one of the most popular games for kids. Rumour has it they helped with CryptoKitties so imagine what this will do.

Quantstamp - Auditing of smart contracts on the ethereum network. With ICOs being developed all the time now this company is one that should see a lot of business.

Bread - Similar to Ethos, another multi wallet with purchasing of different alt coins.

Po.et - Ledger to track ownership of digital assets.

PotCoin - Medical Marijuana, Dennis Rodman shilling it on talkshows...?

WaBi - Already working product for anti-counterfeit goods especially in China.

CyberMiles - Online marketplace which has had some mainstream media attention.

SimpleToken - Enables app developers to create their own token.

Elixer - Another lending service which rewards customers who lend and payback loans.

Aeron - Blockchain for aviation safety.

DeepBrain Chain - A.I. computing platform.

Sirin Labs Token - Blockchain smartphone
