I personally don't see mining with a regular pc or mac worthwhile. Maybe for some very small coins, but now for any of the big ones.

    Agreed! As I stated, it won't make you rich, but if you have zero coins and just want to start playing with crypto, this will be your quickest way in. A gaming PC with a 1060 or any r9 280X + will have a decent return mining ETH or ETC as well.
